last month, my family moved from Florida to Utah. My dad wanted to be closer to Los Angeles for work, but he didn't want to move to California. So here we are in the middle of no where and I hate it.

I found a dance program for the summer, but it doesn't start for another few weeks. until then, I'm stuck in this house with no friends and nothing to do. The few people that I did meet look at me like I'm from Mars and don't want to be around me it seems. Like one day, I was wearing a tank top and shorts and this girl looked at me like I was naked. They are always going to church stuff. it's so different from what I am used to. I don't think I'm going to make any friends here.

have any of you moved far from your home? were you mad at your parents? Were the people different from you?

that's what my firends from back home said too. but my brother said that everyone from that religion sticks together, like a club, and they are all rude to people who don't follow their same religion. that is so wrong.

I was explaining how upset I was with my current living situation and your response was: "Yeah Whatever."

If it wasn't attitude, then it was definitely rude.

I really feel sorry for you. you seem to have a lot of anger and aggression. That's a bad way to be.

I think you mean mormons
I find that when you move its best to try and blend in at first. I know that its really horrible that one should have to hide who they truly are to fit in, but its the best way to begin making friends, especially if they have a complex with the types of clothing you wear.
You could of course stick with being yourself, you will eventually find some friends, but past experience says it takes alot longer.

I have moved from Australia to Canada, being my biggest move, and back again. I didn't find it to terrible making friends but when I moved suburbs and schools in grade 2 it was hard. I was considered an outsider simply because my family hadn't lived in the town for the past 100years like almost everyone else *giggle*

Norris...good luck with the mormons---most of them (i'm saying them all) can be quite mean wih non-mormon people...you'll find someone eventually, not everyone in Utah has to be mean!

My biggest moving has been 3 doors down the hall, lol-

You lived in Canada? My mum did that when she was young, and my friend Yiota was going to but it got cancelled last minute. It seems every aussie goes to Canada or England at some stage. lol.gif

As for me, like Andre, my biggest move has only been literally five rooms away grin.gif Never moving NEVER!!! Even though my parents say were moving when my bro finishes primary school [I'll be in Uni {hopefully USyd or UTS grin.gif} but I'll probably still be living at home]. I don't wanna leave my little house sad.gif I love it. I've lived here forever and my history is here.

I was here in the 02/03 bushfires, I was here during the hail. I was here when I saw 9/11 on Sky news, and I was here when the Tsunami happened. And I was here when 5 of my cats were born on the kitche floor, and a further 5 in my front yard. grin.gif Get it? NOT MOVING!

it's so cool you love your house like that!
I like the old, big, dark and creepy house I live in...but soemtimes I wish it wasn't SO gloomy.
Btw: How are the bushfires this year? I haven't got the opportunity to get news on them
