1. Use the commentators
The two men sitting by ringside can really help you tell a story. If your character is a heel, have the commentators comment on dirty moves he does. If you really want a move to stand out, have the commentators talk about it, and bring it back up, for example:
Fuseboy: That powerbomb we saw earlier is taking it's effect.
2. Use the crowd
This is basically a follow up to the first one, but still important. The crowd can really help you get your character over as a face or heel, add chants during matches, and mention the crowd reactions to big moves, but go sparingly on holy ###### chants, they only come after huge moves.
3. You're not the only one there
Give your opponent chants, give him offense, basically sell your opponent like the Rock sells Stunners, if you make them look good, it'll make you look good. By no means should you start jobbing furiously, just give them advantages.
4. Have a unique character.
If your wrestler has a rapping gimmick, have him rap in promos. If your wrestler has a psycho gimmick, have him go mental in matches, stomping mudholes etc.
5. Be realistic
Look, we've never ever seen a 1010 degree splash, so don't add it do your matches. Try to be unique, but also don't do moves that aren't humanly possible.
6. Open a new window, and look at your opponent's profile. This way you'll know if a suplex is logical, for weight reasons, and you can add in their main moves
7. Try watching real matches, and look for ideas.
