Title: does anyone check this anymore?
Description: it's a ghost forum!
killerJZwang - August 12, 2008 04:48 AM (GMT)
yeah, i don't know, it just seems that the forums have essentially ... died.
anyone watching the olympics?
1. LEZAK
2. misty may and walsh are crazy unbeatable
3. yao lulz
4. evidently china can dive, but we can't swim.
Ferris Wheel - August 12, 2008 07:02 AM (GMT)
Unfortunately, yes. You people are just bad at telling new people to sign up for the forums.
1. Old people can swim, after all. And I bet Phelps just got lazy in that relay and wanted to save his strength for his 6 individual golds.
2. Figures you'd be watching women in bikinis. :P
3. China sucks at basketball :(
4. Omg so ridiculous. The final round scores aren't even close. And I think it's because China can't afford real swimming pools. So they just use watering holes and practice jumping in >_>
5. NBC's coverage is really really shitty. Live broadcasts are 12+ hours delayed (even online, wtf) and there's so much stuff they don't put online. Like diving :( The mens synchro diving video is literally a slideshow.
Wolverine - August 12, 2008 08:58 AM (GMT)

College people dont' post anymore =( Or rarely...
1) Haha. That was so amazing >< I was like... flabbergasted =O Amazingness for the US. Take that FRENCHIES! (sorry, Leann)
4) Haha. Chinese Divers are crazy good >< But yeah, we suck at swimming >__> I don't root for China when it comes to swimming. It's like a lost cause. Plus, Phelps, Coughlin, and Peirsol = amazing. Oh. And Lezak for that awesome feat. Wtf. How is that possible? O_O
Grace... you're really... weird.
Wolverine - August 13, 2008 12:30 AM (GMT)
I take it Chris didn't notice who the first responses were from.
spirits003 - August 13, 2008 12:38 AM (GMT)
... I mean, start new topics to get conversations started... But then we're at fault, too, I guess.
And wtf, China has won all gold in weightlifting. Same with diving (but that's no surprise). =/// I guess this is China's year (to be the one with the most goal medals and medals overall)?
Vlakeil - August 13, 2008 12:39 AM (GMT)
How could he not? He checks the forums every 5 minutes =p

WOW... Aren't the girls supposed to be fainting over themselves on hotness of athletes? <_< Phelps is amazing, going for 8... Wow.
What'd people think of the opening ceremony?
And I thought the forum closes down in the summer, because there's no debate... But I guess we don't really talk much about debate on here anyway...
killerJZwang - August 14, 2008 04:36 AM (GMT)

Go Yang Wei who doesn't know the left side of the flag from the right.
Ferris, are you one of those people who sings the anthem with the TV? And did you ever find replacement sauce for Carls Jr? You sent me that twice and then never responded >_>.
spirits003 - August 14, 2008 10:41 PM (GMT)
Holy Crap. China got a Gold in Swimming. And a silver in this same final o___O Good job, China. Good job.
killerJZwang - August 15, 2008 02:21 AM (GMT)

LOL I was going to comment on that too. I was like...
Yang Wei - am i doinitrite?
NO.
Men's all-around was interesting. Everyone was falling left and right. The german guy fell, the japanese guy fell pretty hard on rings, sk guy messed up on pommel horse, vault problems. it was pretty amazing. thought it was funny, hi frenchie that got bronze. xD
phelps owns. basically.
and correction: chinese MEN suck at swimming. Chinese women are okay. Also, evidently china can shoot, because we seem to be getting quite a few shooting medals? O.o
chinese lolita, er I mean women's gymnastics are pretty good.
and, zeheng, clearly people check, seeing as the mass of responses. everyone's just too lazy to make a topic.

Doesn't sound nearly as good.
I felt really bad for Tomita during men's allaround.
But I laughed at the chinese girl's fall on vault tonight :( and then felt bad because she's six years old.
Wolverine - August 15, 2008 06:50 AM (GMT)
HOW did Shawn get below 9.0 execution on the bars!?
killerJZwang - August 15, 2008 08:56 AM (GMT)
Wolverine - August 15, 2008 09:00 AM (GMT)
I'm pretty sure Michael is already like four years older than she really is, so that would be "past".
spirits003 - August 15, 2008 10:40 AM (GMT)
You better feel bad about that <_<
And why do the Chinese gymnists look like 6-12 year olds >< It's scary...
Apparently, there was a .5 deduction for something? Dunno. I thought that was good. =/ But the judging was screwy for the vaults for Liukin and Johnson, so that probably carried on. But all that matters is that USA went 1-2 and China went for the bronze. Yay ABC pride!
And to Jing: You'd be surprised what goes on in the minds of guys. Or maybe you won't? =/ >_>
To Michael: Both are WAAAAAY out of your league. WAAAAAY out.

| my god. 68 pounds and 6'8" Chinese people are short, but not THAT short. |
Soooooo...
...Chinese people are usually 7'8"? And the average American height is 8'8"? =p Haha. Jk.
Who are you talking about?
And >______> The Olympics is disappointing me.
He Kexin scored 16.725 on the uneven bars.
Nastia Liukin sscored 16.725.
The tie-breaking procedure is to take away the highest and lowest score of both girls. Then, you average the 4 scores. At this point, He and Liukin got 9.025. So now, you take away the lowest score of both girls and average the 3 scores. He got 9.666 and Liukin got 9.333. Therefore, He got Gold and Liukin got Silver >____>;; I don't like that procedure =.= Especially since they gave out 2 Gold Medals to tie-breakers in the past Olympics.
And the scoring is really skewed for Gymnastics =.= Pisses me off.
Ferris Wheel - August 19, 2008 05:25 PM (GMT)
And the best part is that everyone says China is cheating because the tiebreaker process gave gold to He Kexin.
Actually, I take that back. The best part is that everyone cites 'confusing math' as the reason that the tiebreaker shouldn't be used. I guess I would also be afraid of the Chinese winning if it all came down to math.
Wolverine - August 19, 2008 07:51 PM (GMT)
Actually they're just saying the judges screwed up the scoring in the first place, there shouldn't have been a tiebreaking process to worry about.
And I agree with those who think that the tiebreaker sucks. What's wrong with two golds? It makes it more exciting. I don't like the new gymnastics scoring at all, really.
