I know that Villanova promised us a new building by our 3L year; however, I tend to doubt that will be the case. Does anyone know if there have been updates on that front?

From everything I've heard from older and former students, the administration has been talking about building a new building for a long, long time. A new one would be nice, but I'm not going to be holding my breath.

I asked one of the ladies at the law school about new construction and she said they are having a hard time finalizing plans for the new parking lot. Apparently the parking lot has to be redone before the plans are even finalized for the building so at that pace I doubt we will see anything during our time there.

Yeah, that was the one thing that kind of bothered me about the visiting students' day - I could tell they were fibbing, but they seemed pretty adamant that a new building would be available by our 3L year. Now it seems like was just a tactic to lure in prospectives who were less than impressed by the building. I was going to enroll regardless, but I hope they're a bit more honest in other matters.

Whatever the school tries to do with regards to a new building, expect Radnor Township to try and be as much of a nuisance as possible. From what I've heard, the township is always trying to do stuff to pretty much annoy the school for no apparent reason (i.e. new stadium for football/expanding the current one, other stuff with new buildings for the school.)

Well, once you get here, it'll start fitting together for you -- the township is VERY monied. It's one of the richest places in the country, and certainly the richest in the state. The people here are usually very slow to react to change, of any sort. When your community is as nice as this one is, there's a vested interest in keeping the status quo. It's also a lot of old money, and they're all set, and like how things are. They don't necessarily take the longest view possible.

They hear about a stadium, and don't want the traffic. They like keeping Nova small, it keeps it quiet, and less of an impact on the area.
