I'm kinda torn between going for Corporate and Securities Law or maybe doing Sports Law combined with Labor Law and Contracts (I've heard that a good amount of sports teams' general managers have law degrees, that'd be fun to do.)

actually, the sports law prof at nove, Gil Stein, is an ex pres of the NHL...I'm currently reading his book, Power Plays...As you can see, I'm into sports too, but maybe tax, or maybe corp, who knows

Being an agent for hockey players would be great, I bet I'd piss Bob Clarke off so much during negotiations for my client, especially the client's name was Eric...

I didn't really know anything about Nova having any sports law programs, but I'll have to look into it now that you all mention it. My original idea was to go try to do something with some sort of business/corporate law, but I've always wanted to get involved with sports law as sortof a long shot dream. Probably not as an agent though -- I don't think I can be as awful a human being as Drew Rosenhaus and Scott Boras, so I might want to look into the other side of the industry (working for the team and not the player).

If you wanted to work with the team instead of the player, I'd imagine doing something like labor or contract law combined with sports law would be a better way to go, even go corporate or business law and work with the team in that kind of sector.

Yeah Matt, that's why I'm likely to go do something with corporate law and go from there. At least there are always jibs available if you don't get one in sports with that type of concentration. It's definitely cool that we have a group of sports fans on here (already) and this is just a small sample of our class.
I know you all are big hockey fans from the little I've seen on here, I grew up a Rangers fan (yeah, I know) but I don't follow hockey much these days. I'm big on college basketball (MD Terps) and football (Terps and Ravens).
