Generations ago, two packs clashed in a tremendous battle. With heavy losses on both sides, each pack fought until the leader of one side was felled by the other. Arshigo prevailed and forced the other pack, the Keva’al, to leave. The heir to leadership of the Keva’al vowed vengeance on the Arshigo for the death of their leader and the eviction of their pack. Then, they left. What was left of Arshigo made their own decision that day, to keep to themselves and stay within their pack territory because they did not desire and could not afford another conflict so major.

As time passed, a clan of lynx moved in alongside Arshigo and a mischievous pack called Dirac staked claim of their own lands as well. The lynx were a friendly group and often tried to befriend Arshigo and inquired what their past was, but Arshigo always declined their offers and said nothing enlightening about their past. Dirac was one to become a thorn in everyone’s side, pulling pranks and making mischief with every chance they got. Anyone made a suitable target and those in Dirac were bold enough to take their pranks to lands not even their own.

Then came the day when strangers appeared and settled down in once abandoned lands: the Keva’al had returned, still holding their grudge despite the generations since the war. Through plots, schemes, and other forms of recruiting, they worked their numbers to grow so that one day they could settle the score. Their leaders were vicious and their ways were ruthless as they worked toward their goal. As their strength grew, so did their chances of success against the Arshigo, even as the Arshigo discovered their return.

Unfortunately, nature has a way of throwing its own twists into everyone’s plans. A mountain in Keva’al, known as Abattu, erupted. It rained destruction and debris across Keva’al. What lands were not irreparably damaged became void of prey thanks to the scare. The Keva’al wolves were forced to leave their lands, becoming a nomadic terror. Their numbers had been reduced thanks to the eruption, but their goals were still the same.

Another victim in the spring the year the volcano erupted was the lynx clan. Their numbers had been dwindling, but the final blow came when their leader was killed protecting a youngster. The clan was thus destroyed and a potential ally of the Arshigo vanished, leaving them more alone for when the day came that Keva’al finally would start a new war...

Read these through well...for they detail what each group is like. After all, you wouldn't want to join up with a group only to discover they are nothing like what your character is, now, would you? (Unless you want your character in constantly awkward situations...though that could be fun...)

Arshigo Pack

The Arshigo Pack is older in its ways, having been around for many generations. They are, at times, mysterious creatures, spending most of their time secluded on their lands, keeping to themselves as they dislike getting involved in the matters of others. They treat everyone with respect unless some reason is given to do otherwise. A member of this pack is expected to help those that are in need and be courteous to all around them, especially those of opposite gender or higher rank. These wolves do not put their trust into another lightly, believing that such a state is better earned than just given. However, once trust has been earned, it is well worth it for this pack will not hesitate to retaliate should they or those they trust be put into danger. Because of their ways, the Arshigo Pack is a tight-knit community that works well together. After all, such bonds are needed to survive the climate they live in. A unique detail of this pack is that they never take life for granted and always take the time to enjoy the little details that pass by. Life is a precious gift, and not even their prey should be treated as though their lives were useless.

Dirac Pack

The Dirac Pack is a strange group of wolves. It is a wonder that they even manage at all with their behavior. They are very active wolves, mischievous beyond all reason. Their favorite pass-time is pulling "harmless" pranks on others around them, whether it be a random passerby, a pack member, a member of a different pack, or even other species. Anyone could be a target, and sometimes they will wander into other territories just to have a good laugh. Sometimes their pranks go too far, often causing conflict with their target for the joke. Though skitsy with actual, violent confrontations as they are not always the best of fighters, the Dirac wolves are cunning and use every trick they can come up with to try to escape the situation. The only time they will fight is if they can find no other way out. To them, everything in life is a game, a fun time waiting to be had. If someone else proves to be a good conspirator of such fun, they may lend their trust too easily. Despite their constant search for a laugh, these wolves manage to maintain a level of respect within their ranks so that their pack system does not fall apart when pranks are pulled on each other.

Keva'al Pack

The Keva’al are not wolves to be messed with. They are a ruthless, vicious lot who revel in bringing down their wrath on others. Conquering the lands to increase the size of their territory is what they do best, caring nothing for whoever stands in their path. For those who decide to join them instead of being on the receiving end of their brutishness, the Keva’al have their ways to make sure they are not double crossed. Thanks to a battle long ago between the Keva’al and Arshigo packs, the Keva’al were forced out of the lands. The pack holds an especially deep loathing for the Arshigo wolves because of that turn of events. Revenge is a common practice among the Keva’al pack, and though it can be seen even between pack members, it is against wolves who are not of the pack that their revenge is strongest. Though they may appear to only rely on brute strength, the Keva’al are good at making plans. They are not as cunning as the Dirac wolves, but still pose a large threat with the combination of their dominating nature and their planning abilities.
