Generations ago, two packs clashed in a tremendous battle. With heavy losses on both sides, each pack fought until the leader of one side was felled by the other. Arshigo prevailed and forced the other pack, the Keva’al, to leave. The heir to leadership of the Keva’al vowed vengeance on the Arshigo for the death of their leader and the eviction of their pack. Then, they left. What was left of Arshigo made their own decision that day, to keep to themselves and stay within their pack territory because they did not desire and could not afford another conflict so major.

As time passed, a clan of lynx moved in alongside Arshigo and a mischievous pack called Dirac staked claim of their own lands as well. The lynx were a friendly group and often tried to befriend Arshigo and inquired what their past was, but Arshigo always declined their offers and said nothing enlightening about their past. Dirac was one to become a thorn in everyone’s side, pulling pranks and making mischief with every chance they got. Anyone made a suitable target and those in Dirac were bold enough to take their pranks to lands not even their own.

Then came the day when strangers appeared and settled down in once abandoned lands: the Keva’al had returned, still holding their grudge despite the generations since the war. Through plots, schemes, and other forms of recruiting, they worked their numbers to grow so that one day they could settle the score. Their leaders were vicious and their ways were ruthless as they worked toward their goal. As their strength grew, so did their chances of success against the Arshigo, even as the Arshigo discovered their return.

Unfortunately, nature has a way of throwing its own twists into everyone’s plans. A mountain in Keva’al, known as Abattu, erupted. It rained destruction and debris across Keva’al. What lands were not irreparably damaged became void of prey thanks to the scare. The Keva’al wolves were forced to leave their lands, becoming a nomadic terror. Their numbers had been reduced thanks to the eruption, but their goals were still the same.

Another victim in the spring the year the volcano erupted was the lynx clan. Their numbers had been dwindling, but the final blow came when their leader was killed protecting a youngster. The clan was thus destroyed and a potential ally of the Arshigo vanished, leaving them more alone for when the day came that Keva’al finally would start a new war...

Rules of special characters:

1. You must be active with the character, but you do not have to be as active as main site species…as such, these characters will be allowed a 90 day inactivity period before deletion rather than 60.

2. There are only a specified number of open slots for each species here…but if one female and one male are created…who knows what else could happen…So, no begging for another slot for a species when it's not open…

3. Some of these characters are much more…powerful…than the regularly allowed species. Please, please try not to go nuts with your abilities…especially when encountering a lone character.

4. Each species here has a general personality. These are basic guidelines for what these characters will act like. Of course, you can add on with fun quirks and such, but don’t go too far from the general...polar opposite is way too far…oh, and since you have no designated territories, feel free to wander wherever you want.

5. Auditions will be made on this thread. You must still write out a character application if you win the audition, HOWEVER, it will not be quite the same as character applications for lynx and wolves. Appearance and History will follow the same guidelines, but Personality will only need to be 150 words (because you will have a general one…but character quirks can be put there). If your audition is long enough, you may use that as an RP Sample in your application if you choose not to do history...or just extend your audition so that it is long enough to fit for that if you're not the type to write histories.

6. To audition: Reply in this thread with the species you want at the top of your post and then make an in character post of how you would play the character. The minimum audition length is 350 words, but you may go over that as much as you like if you feel like going nuts. Don't forget; you can use this Word Counter to check your length!

Available Characters:
NOTE: The "Length" stat on all species is measured from head to tail-tip for conformity. Outside sources may list lengths shorter than those for the mammals here as generally the head/body length is displayed separate from the tail length whereas they are combined on this site.

Golden Eagle - 0 Available
Lifespan: 30 years
Length: 29 to 40 inches (2'5" – 3'4")
Wingspan: 72 to 88 inches (6' – 7'4")
Weight: 6.5 to 13.5 lbs
NOTE: Females are larger in length/wingspan/weight than males. Full adult plumage is not reached until 4 years of age.
Breeding Season (Incubation): Spring/Early Summer (~45 days)
Description: These birds are large and dangerous to anything that looks like food to them. They have been known to go after anything from squirrels and rabbits, to seals, badgers, coyotes, and other birds. Any wandering offspring or smaller animal is at risk when a Golden Eagle is hunting. They are keen birds and not easily tricked or deterred from their prey unless there is a risk for their own lives. They have little fear of anything relegated to living on the ground. They are bold, strong, and sometimes terrifying when they hunt in pairs, chasing relentlessly after their prey until exhaustion makes their meal an easier kill. Don't taunt them unless you have a death wish.
Helpful Information: Golden Eagle - ADW, Golden Eagle - Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Golden Eagle - California Raptor Center

Snowy Owl - 1 Available
Lifespan: 15 years
Length: 24 to 29 inches (2' – 2'5")
Wingspan: 54 to 63 inches (4'6" – 5'3")
Weight: 3.2 to 6.5 lbs
NOTE: Females are larger in length/wingspan/weight than males.
Breeding Season (Incubation): Late Spring/Early-Mid Summer (~32 days)
Description: They may nest on the ground, but that doesn't mean you should try to raid their nest. Snowy Owls have some of the sharpest talons around and can take a good slice out of an intruder on a flying pass. They will defend their clutch from any intruders, even wolves, though their main source of food is small rodents such as lemmings. Unlike other owls, these are diurnal birds. They are protective and secretive birds who prefer to keep to their own species rather than consorting with other animals, though they may do so on occasion. They are normally cautious around strangers, observing situations to see who is a threat and who is not. More often than not, they think their actions through before dealing with those of other species.
Helpful Information: Snowy Owl - ADW, Snowy Owl - Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Snowy Owl - The Owl Pages

Martens - 2 Available
Lifespan: 15 years
Length: 27 to 37 inches (2'3" – 3'1")
Height: Short, around 6" – 8" (though height is not generally measured...)
Weight: 0.6 – 2.75 lbs
Breeding Season (Gestation): Summer (~30 days, but martens are special critters and won't birth until spring due to something called "delayed implantation")
Description: Martens are opportunistic and will eat whatever is available for them to dine on, from certain insects, to voles, and sometimes even chipmunks. They will also eat nuts, fruits, and birds if presented with the meal. They prefer the dark and prefer to work alone unless it's breeding season, though occasionally a male may be seen with a female at other times of the year. They are skilled climbers and swimmers, some spending much of their time up in the trees rather than wandering on the ground. Some may be arrogant with their skills, even challenging the feline kind to climb better. They can be mischievous and play small jokes on other, such as tossing pine-cones or the remains of a meal down on the head of a passerby, if they are in the mood for such shenanigans. They are also very quick when they need to be and may be able to outmaneuver those that become irritated with them.
Helpful Information: American Marten - ADW, American Marten - Wisconsin DNR, European Pine Marten - ADW

Mountain Lion - 0 Available
Lifespan: 14 years
Height: 24 to 29 inches (2’ – 2’5”)
Length: 58 to 107 inches (5'10" – 9'7")
Weight: 80 – 270 lbs (Females up to 140 lbs, Males up to 270 lbs)
Breeding Season (Gestation): Winter (90 – 96 days)
Description: Though still in the same height range as a wolf, this feline is much larger in length and weight than the canine. This weight is normally mainly muscle that allows for this feline to be able to take down large hoofed animals on its own, or perhaps in pair if during breeding season. They are not the best creatures to meet on one’s own, for a cougar wouldn’t mind having a lone wolf for a snack, nor would they mind picking a fight with a lone lynx for freshly caught food. If one is really sure of itself, it may even take on two wolves, but attacking a pack would be foolish. These felines are not at all dumb when it comes knowing what the odds are.
Helpful Information: Mountain Lion - ADW, Cougar - Lioncrusher's Domain

Bobcat - 3 Available
Lifespan: 13 years
Height: 18 to 24 inches (1’6” – 2’0")
Length: 25 to 48 inches (2'1" – 4'0")
Weight: 9 – 33 lbs
Breeding Season (Gestation): Winter (60 – 70 days)
Description: Physically, this cat looks a lot like a lynx. Their sizes are similar, their colorings are similar, their shapes are similar, but they have their minor differences. For one who mistakes a bobcat to be a lynx, a nasty shock waits. Unlike the lynx, these felines are not docile creatures. They are commonly bold and quick tempered, and do have the flair for messing with the minds of those that mistake them for lynx…either that or attacking without a word. These felines are very able to adapt to any situation in any terrain, using all they know to their advantage whether it be how the land flows, or tid-bits of information. Manipulation is fun, but once that wears off, attacking is fun too.
Helpful Information: Bobcat - ADW, Bobcat - Lioncrusher's Domain

Wolverine - 1 Available
Lifespan: 11 years
Height: 14 to 17 inches (1’2” – 1’5”)
Length: 29 to 36 inches (2'5" – 3'0")
Weight: 20 – 65 lbs
Breeding Season (Gestation): Anytime O.o (30 – 40 days, but like martens, offspring always born in Early Winter/Late Spring for that same special process)
Description: If the bobcat is quick tempered, then the wolverine is just down right mean twenty-four seven. They don’t like anyone, anywhere, anytime…not even their own species unless the other is of opposite gender in breeding months, and even that is pushing their limits. Though small in stature, wolverines have a very powerful jaw that lets them take down prey much larger than themselves, not to mention make them a great deal of a threat to offspring of other creatures. They don’t usually go after much besides rodents, but when desperate for food, all had better beware.
Helpful Information: Wolverine - ADW

Grizzly (Brown) Bear - 0 Available
Lifespan: 25 years
Height: 35 to 60 inches (2’11” - 5’)
Standing Height: 6’ – 10’ (or thereabouts)
Length: 66 to 112 inches (5'6" – 9'4")
Weight: 130 – 1,750 lbs
Breeding Season (Gestation): Spring/Summer (180 – 266 days...yes, offspring born in winter/spring)
Description: Though very large and lumbering in appearance, these bears can put on quite a spurt of speed if riled. They are often viewed as slow in the head for their appearance, whether or not that is true is a secret to the bears. They don’t usually communicate regularly with anyone other than other bears, but have been known on the rare occasion to say a few words. They don’t anger too easily, so long as no one takes their food, insults them too much, or comes within sight, sound, or smell of their cubs. Thankfully, they hibernate during the winter, giving everyone in the lands a bit of a break from their menacing looking presence.
Helpful Information: Brown Bear - ADW, Brown Bear - Lioncrusher's Domain

I SHOULDN'T BE DOING THIS!!!

His name was Orollo Maladin, a male grizzly of nine years age. His fur was a deep shade of brown, thick, and hard to penetrate. During his life, he had seen a good number of things that ranged from petty theivery of wolves to all-out fights between bears for mates or better grounds. He himself had participated in a few of those, earning some battle scars on various parts of his body. From those battle scars, he was proud. He was proud for the battles he'd won, and for the ones he survived even if he didn't win. He was a true grizzly bear and had proved it over and over again. No one in the whole expanse of the world could take that away from him, and that was what made him happy with his life. But just because he was happy about his way of life didn't mean he would treat all creatures as friends. There were few individuals outside the species of bear he would ever talk to, most were not worthwhile. On this fall day where he was headed for the salmon runs, it was proven just as plainly as ever to him.

Orollo staked out his usual spot at the run, earlier than most bears arrived. When they were all there, for the most part they treated each other nicely, but the occasional spat did break out over whose fish was whose and the best spots to fish in. It was all the more reason to get there early, to stake out the best locations. He was going to need all that food for stored energy for the upcoming hibertation. Thus, the great grizzly found himself at his usual claim by the shore, near an outcropping rock by some minor rapids and falls where the salmon were forced to bunch up as they tried to scale the falling water. They were easier targets there. In his usual slow movements, he went over to check out the area to see if the first salmon had started arriving yet. There was such a thing as being too early, after all. Peering into the water, he could see a few of their silvery-pink forms there, but not many. That would change soon. It would only take a few days at most before the main part of the salmon stream would begin. Sloshing into the water, Orollo walked over to his regular hunting position and waited for the action to begin.

"Hey!" a voice hollered from on shore behind him. Orollo turned his head enough to see a wolf there, addressing him. He gave no acknowledgement to the canine and returned his gaze to the waters. It wasn't worth his time to speak to the wolf, especially when highly needed food was going to be coming soon.

"I said hey!" the voice hollered again. "What're you doing, bear? Fishing?" asked the wolf. Orollo thought him to be either stupid or naive to be asking the obvious, but apparently the wolf thought he was being funny. "Better be careful. If you keep pounding around in the water, you're gonna scare them off! Want a few pointers?"

Irritation was starting to mount within Orollo at the wolf for intruding and not picking up on the obvious sign that he didn't want to speak with him. However, the grizzly was able to keep in his "zen" mode to concentrate on fish rather than the wolf. It wasn't worth the time or effort to take action on that annoying canine, at least not yet. Sooner or later, the wolf would get bored and go off to do something else rather than keep bothering an unresponsive bear. If it was too much later, though, that wolf was going to regret not having the intelligence to back off while he had a chance.

"Maybe you should try a different spot!" Ah, there was more motion in the water down below. Orollo Maladin shifted his stance to prepare to swipe or bite at one of the salmon on their way up stream as they jumped up the falls. The first one jumped and he opened his jaws to bite at it, missing. "Too bad...should have put more thought into that, eh, bear?" Another one was starting to make a run for the falls, getting up speed to jump up the current. This time, Orollo tried to do some combination of biting at it and swatting it from below, again missing his target. "They're more slippery than they look!" The third one came and Orollo raised a paw to swat it toward drier grounds to trap it. When it jumped, he swung. This time he made contact and sent the fish sailing toward some of the rocks between the shore and where he stood. The fish flipped about and got lodged in a dry spot between some of the rocks, easy pickings for him when he got over there.

"Thanks for the fish!"

Oh, that was it! Orollo glared at the wolf as the canine leapt over the water near shore and onto the rocks where the fish had landed. He wasn't going to get away with stealing that hard earned meal! With a low growl, Orollo made a charge on the rocks, splashing the water violently in his path, startling the wolf. "Good..." thought the bear as he reached the rocks and the pest remained moments too long in shock. He brought up one of his massive paws and swung toward the wolf, feeling a solid contact and hearing a satisfying yelp while the idiot tumbled into the water. He hadn't even hit him as hard as he could, but the point was well taken on the wolf's part. Orollo grinned as the worthless canine limped off in a hurry. Certainly, that wolf would never make the mistake of taunting a bear again.

I am none other than Orollo Maladin, a great Grizzly Bear of the north. I have been around for 10 years, born male. I have no friends or relations here, and no enemies...yet... Do Not cross me.

Regardless, your Bear, Orollo is wonderful.... Wouldn't want him neat Talon though...that cougar is quite taunting.... and Mr. Maladin doesn't look like he takes too well to that sort of behavior...

Aanyway....

Go and Make Your Bear

Accepted!

Actually, it's part of that name. Those were the last two words in the four word name. I kinda liked them the best for what I was thinking.

Oh, yes...Orollo shall have to meet Talon and many other charries...maybe he'll go hibernate in Dirac lands this winter... *cackles*

OOC: Meet Gird the Bird, a beautiful Snowy Owl.

IC:

The time was dusk and the sun was low in the sky. Only half of it still peered over the horizon. The landscape was a vast plain, covered in snow, coming to an end at a southern edge, where tall conifers marked the beginning of a forest. The snow was tinted red, as were the majestic trees, all bathed in the glow from the baleful eye of the setting sun. A lone figure flew high above the earth, shooting across the sky like a bullet.

The creature was a snowy owl, and as such, its speed and the height of its flight were out of the ordinary. In just a few moments she had covered the distance to the trees and perched herself on a branch about twenty feet off the ground. Her name was Gird. She was roughly eight years old, a bit light for a female with not as many bars as was common, and she was currently running from something. Her breath came in heavy pants and she flicked her eyes about nervously, searching the skies for some sign of trouble. She ruffled her feathers anxiously, and turned her head to face ahead of her, into the forest.

“I don’t know where they are, how far behind me they are, or if they are even still chasing me, but I do need to stop." Her chest was heaving up and down with each breath she took, and the inside of her mouth felt as if it was glued together due to lack of water. She clacked her beak together a couple times, opening and closing her mouth, trying to get rid of the feeling. She heard water not far off, and took off in search of it.

She flew from tree to tree, as quickly as she could, but taking a moment in between flights to listen for the sounds of her pursuers. Once she almost fell out of the sky when she thought she heard the rustle of wings behind her, and her whole body froze in panic. Then she realized it was the echo of her wings, and caught herself before she fell too far. After about ten minutes she had located the water. It was a small stream, running amidst the trees. She rested on a branch above it and looked around for any signs of danger. The sound of the running water was torture, but she was still more concerned with safety than quenching her thirst. After a few seconds, she felt safe and left the concealing branches of the tree. She glided down and came to a stop on top of a good sized stone in the middle of the stream. She paused again, looked around, and then dipped her head quickly, gulping water as fast as she could. She snapped her head up as she heard something coming towards her, and held herself still, cursing the water for making it hard to hear. When she heard something again, she silently flew up off the rock and resumed her perch in the tree.

She did not have to wait long before she saw the cause of the noise. A group of three or four rabbits was emerging from the forest to chance a drink from the spring. At the sight her stomach gave a sharp and painful twist inside her. It had been far too long since she had eaten. But she had not had time to stop and hunt while she was being chased. Now, she had the time. The one in the lead was the largest, which was absolutely perfect. Not only was it the closest to her, but it would make the most satisfying meal out of the bunch. She could feel the glands in her mouth go into overdrive at the thought of the juicy and delicious meat she was soon to be enjoying, and had to swallow. She waited, motionless, until the rabbit was a short five feet away, at the edge of the stream. She took a second to cast about a quick look and thank the gods that she had perched on a low branch, and then she made her move.

The branch gave a bit as she pushed her six pounds of muscle, feathers, and talons off of it. She swept through the air, and was on the rabbit in a split second, before it had a chance to do much more than snap its head up in terror, and brace itself to run. She had her talons sunk deeply into its fur and flesh, and was holding on with all her strength while it tried to run away. For a while it was like tug of war, and the opposing forces soon tired the rabbit out. Once it struggles had subsided enough, she settled on its body, and broke its neck with a sharp twist of her beak. As soon as the life had drained from the rabbit, and its body was limp, she flew back into the tree, higher up than before, and proceeded to rip the carcass into manageable pieces before devouring it.

She grew careless while she was eating, and did not notice that she was no longer the only creature in the area. She had only been finished with her food for mere seconds before she felt a weight slam into her, knocking her off the branch and into the air. She felt dagger like talons pierce her breast, and screeched in pain. She used her wing to beat at her attacker, and succeeded in knocking herself free. She looked up, and saw a large heavily barred female above her in the air, glaring down at her with a look of hatred and malevolence such as she had never known. For a brief moment guilt overwhelmed Gird, and she thought about letting herself be ripped to shreds. However the next moment her want to live resurfaced, and she flew at her attacker.

Now, the attacker out weighed her by at least a pound, but she had been chasing Gird for the past three days, and had not taken the time to stop and drink, or eat, and as such was considerably weaker than her opponent. Gird flew up into her, buffeting her with blows from her powerful wings about her head and chest. She stunned her long enough to move into a better position, so she was no longer underneath the unnamed female. Uttering a loud and harsh cry, she sheathed her talons into the other owl, one right above her wing, and the other in her neck squeezing with her toes to collapse the windpipe. Try as the other might, she could not displace Gird’s deadly claws, and soon was losing strength.

Locked in battle, the two birds started to sink, falling down as the aggressive female lost the ability to stay in flight. Soon her wings were barely moving, and they started to plummet. At this point, Gird let go, and the female dropped like a stone, landing in a snowdrift beneath them. She flew down, and settled at the edge of the hole the owl had made when she landed. She craned her head over it and looked down, the female was still alive. Feeling remorse for what she had done, she jumped down in the hole and grabbed the female, intending to lift her out of the hole, and set her down somewhere else, somewhere not covered in snow, where she might have a chance of living. The wounds that Gird had inflicted were not enough to cause death, it had been the lack of oxygen that was doing it, so there was a good chance that she might recover.

As she started to spread her wings, she heard a voice call down, “I’ll do that, get away from her.” Another owl, as white as pure snow, came down and landed beside her. The look he gave her was no less menacing than the female’s who came before him. He was smaller than her, but much older than she was, as his coloring indicated. She dropped her head in deference and moved out of the way, allowing him to see to his mate. He had a bit of difficulty moving her, as she was larger than him, but he eventually succeeded in doing so. The female’s air was returning to her, and she was able to stand on her own, though she leaned heavily against her the male. Gird’s stomach clenched, and her heart gave a twist as she had to look into the eyes of Gret and Herg, parents of the young female owl she had killed.

They both glared at her intensely, and she knew not only why, but that she deserved it. However, she felt no regret for her actions. “What will you do now? Will you continue to chase me down? Even now, that one of you is injured, and is attracting predators as we stand here? You know the scent of your blood is going to make you a prime target, Gret. Can you not give up, go back and live to mother more hatchlings in the future? Can you not live for the other children you have brought to adulthood?” She paused for a moment to take a breath, needing the fresh surge of oxygen to clear her head which was starting to become fogged with pain. “I am sorry for the pain I have caused you, I wish that things did not have to be this way. But I will not apologize for the course I have taken. Your daughter cost me my flesh and blood, and my mate. She is lucky that all I took from her in return was her life, and not the lives of those she loved, as was done to me. All I ask, is to be left alone. I am leaving, and will not be returning, ever. I have no wish to reside in the same places as before, or to ever see you again, or cause you more grief with my presence. But right now, trying to exact your revenge on me is more perilous to your own health than it is to mine. Just let me go.” All that she spoke was truth, and she waited to see if she would be receiving a response from either owl.

They turned and looked at each other, seemingly communicating silently. Gret bobbed her head at Herg, and he looked back at Gird, pausing before he spoke. “Know this, the only reason you escape with your life today, is because my mate is so grievously injured. Grant thanks to the gods for that. If we ever see you again, no matter how far in the future, we will kill you, and we will not be alone in our thirst for your blood.” With that, he turned away from her, back to his mate, and supported her as they took flight, heading north and leaving Gird behind. Releasing her breath in a sigh, Gird took stock of her injuries, decided that they were not life threatening, and launched herself into the air, going in the opposite direction.

Did my singing about Bert have anything to do with you naming your owl Gird? XD

Anywho, looks pretty good to me. Go ahead and make up a formal appy! As this is a bird, you can swap "wingspan" for the "height" that's normally required in a charry appy.

Female Grizzly Bear; Gitta Kuma

In a secret run, she stood high and proud catching one salmon after another with out fail. Returning to her usual perch after her last catch she waited for another poor soul to try its luck at getting past her. This one would be her last for the day, already caught five she was getting tired of eating non stop fish and wanted something sweet. This wise grizzly was named after her grand-mother Gitta Kuma, a strong kind old bear, helping out any creature in peril, unfortunately she turned out nothing like her grandmother. She was strongly built, but was more of a strong quiet type and walked away from any on coming visitors, avoiding communication. There wasn't a time that she remembered having a chat with another, in her 10 years she only watched other Brown bears from a distance keeping her trap shut like usual. With that, she never got into any real damaging fights with other Brown bears, keeping her pelt undamaged.

Walking away from her secret run, Gitta followed the sweet trail of honey bees, just like any other bear Gitta loves honey and will stand the needle like stingers on her snout to get to the golden sweet treasure they were guarding. When she arrived to the familiar ground were bees kept coming back to build their nest, Gitta gave a smirk "Like always coming back every year just for me to rip their work apart..." she told herself while walking up to the giant tree and stood high on her hind legs showing off her 8 feet tall stature, using her large front paws she swung once at the nest and she watched it calmly like usual as it fell. Just like the honey, Gitta's honey eyes glimmered in the bright sun, her deep brown uniformed pelt covered her muscular body.

The agitated bees, trying so hard with out prevail to protect their fallen nest stung at Gitta's face relentlessly. "Sorry guys, I'm taking this today..." she thought to her self as she riped the nest in to uneven pieces, the left is obviously bigger and probably holding the queen in that section, and the right was smaller, they both held the same amount of honey and Gitta pondered for a while taking a decision on which to take. Feeling in a good mood the took the right, sparing their queen yet again and opened her large jaw. Gitta plunged her large canines into the right half of the nest and walked off with her prize to enjoy it once more.

Walking in the deep green forest with her golden prize hanging and dripping with sweet honey. When she came to a clearing to enjoy her desert, Gitta saw a coyote prancing up and down in a distance. "..." Not wanting to share or even talk to this creature she turned her back and walked right back into the green, "Hey! You! Grizzly, what are you doing?" he said playfully while running to Gitta's side, she did not care that this coyote was beside her, but if he were to touch her honey she'd make sure he'd fear bears from this day on. "So whatch'a got there huh? Ooh honey, oh don't worry i don't want any" he said with the largest smile she had ever seen. "..." Gitta never communicated with others so she decided now was not the time to start.

"Ooh... Not much of a talker now are ya? It's okay with me I just never was able to see a bear, let alone a grizzly up close! Well i guess that's good since most aren't this nice and seem to want to rip me apart!" This canine seemed to love hearing his voice, but Gitta was not annoyed, she was listening to him but still looked straight ahead acting like she always does, ignoring others who are brave enough to walk up to a grizzly. Secretly she gives them coddles to be that brave, so she is kind of rewarding them with her presence. "Well thank you for lending me your ears for a short time, I'm off to see other wonders like yourself! Bye!" The coyote ran off to fast that when Gitta finally decided to at least look at his features, he was out of sight, she soon thought that this was the best time to finally eat the sweet rewards of patience right here, near a fallen tree.

I was sort of nervous of trying to make a bear, but I realy wanted the last one before it was gone, so here's my try biggrin.gif

Tsilah - Mountain Lion

((I know I said Eagle....But I guess he'll haft to wait XD))

The moon's shinning veil caped over the cool night. The forest was dense and silent. Only the most skilled of hunters could keep their presence unknown tonight, for a simple leaf's tremor would mean some one is stalking, since the wind had ceased hours ago. The moon was bright, hanging in the middle of the sky, watching over the terrain, giving away a predators location with its odd shading. This was a good night for prey to keep a look out, it was a sound trap and they were alert to any sound for miles around.

Deep within the forest, a hog was taking it's advantage on this wonderful night. Grazing on some shrubs near a hill, great protection, all sound would bounce off the hill and into his floppy ears. Closer up, he was a great boar, riddled with battle scars, he would make the perfect meal if caught. His mean demeanor was just as high as his tusks, capable of tearing any unlucky predator if it came too close. He knew how to use his defense and offense well, not an easy target to take for any newly trained predator.

In the cover of a near by bush, emerald green eyes was watching his every move. This was no amateur apex, no she was skilled. Being able to sneak around the shadows unnoticed, stalking this pig for miles. This large cat was able to slither through the branches quietly for hours, not making a single branch move of crackle. Her slim body capable to keeping low contact with branches that could make large moments and scare away her lunch. For most hunters, the moon was a great disadvantage, for her, it was a great advantage. She used its shadows as a pro, using the leaf patters to break up her silhouette. This cat was completely invisible.

"Wait...Wait..."
she told herself, she was waiting for the boar to turn his back and face the hill, exposing his large rump for an attack. She calculated every move, if she could jump out quick enough, grab his neck with her jaw...drag his tusks down into the dirt with her two front paws, keeping her center of gravity low...He wouldn't be able to do anything... She planed it all out, now it was a matter of timing. This intelligent feline carried the name of the shadows, Tsilah. No one knew of her name or of her existence, to her it was better of this way. She was an overwhelmingly skilled cougar for her age, 4 years of age and she was already as skilled as a veteran. Finally the boar turned his back to reach more food, exposing his unprotected back side.

The cats large emerald eyes widened as she prepared for attack, 'Now!' Tsilah jumped out of the bush, a large body following the shinning eyes, widening further as they approached their target in mid air. She could feel the boars bare flesh riping under her unsheathed claws, 'Success!' she thought to herself.

As quickly as she came out, the boar was dead, not having any time to react or scream. It was a silent, fast and successful kill. Feasting on his remains was a large female Mountain Lion. Tsilah was obviously not your average house cat, by size and attitude. She calculated every hunt, bringing her 50% chance up to 64% success rate, she is indeed brilliant and not to be messed with. 'This was well worth the wait. I hope you enjoyed your life before I took it from you...', keeping her thoughts to herself, to drag less attention to her kill. Tsilah ate it quickly, barely chewing, she was trying to get as much as possible down before the scent of the carcass would attract any other attention. Every time Tsilah would bring her head up, her large round emerald colored eyes shinning in the moon light as she scanned the area for any scavengers.

With her belly full, Tsilah slithered back into the brush, as silently as ever never making a noise or noticeable movement. Tsilah's sand colored pelt disappearing with in the shadows once more, not even her pure white underbelly shone trough. Leaving her kill left for others to find, only bones remained, but some crow might find something. Green orbs floating through the shadows once more in search for another.
