Ancient Forest The Ancient Forest is an old growth forest bordering Silent Copse. The trees rise high into the sky, towering far above the heads of any creature within its confines. Most of the trees have a large diameter, but none are so large as one old and grizzled oak that stands in the center of the woods. It is so wide that a grizzly bear could be standing on the other side and one would never know save for the scent. It is a marvel of nature. Scattered through the forest are many fallen trees as well, one making a fine bridge over a shallow spring not too far away from the massive oak. Many deer and other large animals come to the spring during the warmer months, making the forest a prime hunting location. However, when the spring freezes over in winter, all but the most stubborn and strong animals leave the forest. During those cold months, it would be wise to seek food elsewhere.

Cedar Lake Past the forest rests a lake, named Cedar Lake for the trees that crowd one of its shores. Reeds grow here and there around the lake, creating hiding places for the fish, frogs, birds, and insects that make the lake their home. The other shores of the lake are surrounded by dirt and grass, gently sloping into the waters. Only a few feet from the shoreline, however, the lake has a steep drop-off that could easily catch someone by surprise. A few smooth rocks are scattered through the lake. They peek out from the water as though they were small islands, perhaps making a nice place to relax away from disturbances on shore. In winter, the edges of the lake are frozen solid, but the center is still liquid. Great caution for thin ice should be taken as one walks to get a drink.

Soft-Moss Dens Safely tucked away within the hills just outside of the Ancient Forest, the Soft-Moss Dens make the perfect place for mothers to raise their offspring. Each of the hills in the area harbors a den to choose from. The dens are old burrows of other animals that have long since left the area. Growing around the pre-made dens is a cushy layer of moss mixed with some soft grasses, the perfect play area for youngsters. Here, a mother could watch her young as they play without worry of any major injury. A few small mice and many fun to play with insects wander through the area during the warmer seasons. It would be wise for intruders to avoid the area, whether or not it is in use by any parents, for the Soft-Moss Dens are a highly guarded area due to the highly desirable setting.

Celestial Garden A magnificent garden grows a little distance away from the Soft-Moss Dens. Flowers of many colors bloom throughout spring, summer, and fall. For some, the scent may be overpowering, but to most it is almost like walking through a dream. However, these splendid blooms are not the reason the garden got its name. During the winter months, the ones that take charge of this area may gather together or in small groups, to cast their gaze skyward to watch another awesome spectacle of nature. On cold, clear winter nights, the stars are bright in the darkened sky. From time to time, a flicker of light will spread across the sky, changing in shape, size, brightness, and color. The Aurora Borealis. The display is beautiful during the almost constant darkness of winter, often lifting the spirits of those who see it.

Fairen Field Fairen Field borders Nul Field, blending together at the seem but showing greater differences farther inside. The field is wide and changes slowly before edging up to Celestial Garden. The grasses of the field are very short, not even growing to the knee of the average wolf or lynx. For this, it is easy to spot another moderately sized predatory creature wandering through the field, not to mention the rabbits that frequent there. Snow-shoe hares are not uncommon to spot, but are deadly hard to catch in winter when the snows are deep and the winds a bit violent across the field. There is no cover to hide in when a storm comes rolling through, nothing to do but curl up and lie down against the ground and hope the storm is not that bad. Despite its winter dangers, Fairen Field provides a good area for practicing one's hunting skill on small game.
