The Konoha Institute for the talented and gifted opened its door years ago. Many have yet to acknowledge it, for its student population is a highly selected few. You do not apply to enroll. You are sought out, all throughout Japan by the Headmistress Tsunade. Very few say no to such an opportunity as well. Not after the truth comes to them.
The Konoha Institute does in fact teach the talented and gifted, but of a different degree. Those who make up this school are in fact mutants, a mortal of great talents that occurs during the stage of puberty. At Konoha they are safe, taught to control their powers by their sensei’s, who are also mutants. But deeper details like in the thick plot.
Students are divided into groups of three, based on their mutant abilities, strength, and weaknesses. Under the supervision of their senseis, they restore the rift between mutant and mortal, to learn acceptance of them and realize that they hold no curse, just a gift to be used wisely. To learn these objectives, they are deemed Konoha’s ninjas, given missions to help restore the destruction of humankind around them with their abilities, a stepping stone to the human acceptance of their kind.
_____Main Idea_____
This takes place during the time-skip, as these mutant abilities are triggered during the puberty stage.
Natural Ninja skills, such as flash step and focusing the charka to the soles of the feet are not acceptable here, unless it is a major detail in the character’s abilities. For example, Naruto can’t copy himself a thousand times here. His main focus would be more wind based, and an inner beast inside. However, each student is well trained in martial arts with their endurance and speed strong.
Currently, the mutants are slowly being acknowledged, thus making it slightly difficult for students to actually practice outside of the danger room. However, the students are allowed to venture outside of school. The consequence of revealing their mutant abilities ranges under Tsunade’s speculation, but also depends on if the student truly wants to be shunned by the outside world. Thus why many don’t choose to do so, their need for acceptance often keeps them in control.
The other villages are other institutes. The Suna Academy is more widely known due to the fact its run by Headmaster Gaara, a fifteen year old boy with deep intellect.
Not every mutant turns it ways to Konoha. Those who have proudly displayed their mutant abilities through the fear of humans have set up several different groups. Akatsuki has been a most common threat, although these missions are often given to the senseis.

Nara Shikamaru- One with the shadows, any shadow, and forces the person to mimic his movements. Genius, lazy, cloud lover
Akimichi Chouji- The ability to change his body size, thus changing his strength and speed as well
