Mysterious alley, mysterious meeting, Kuro18

"Down there! She's running away!" Voices echoed down the alley, chasing after a girl. It wasn't as if these guys were thungs and the girl was an innocent girl out at the wrong time of the night, no, they were police and this girl... was a sniper for an underground team. Strapped to her back was a medium sniper and tucked into the back of her short shorts was a handgun. Her loosely tied hair flew behind her as she hurriedly found a place to hide and 'disappear'. Finally, a small space in the wall that she'd fit into.

The policemen stopped at the place she 'disappeared' and glanced at eachother, "What... was that a ghost?" One them asked. There others shrugged and began walking away, there wasn't much they could do now. Still invisible to thier eyes, she scooted along the walls, then took off running again. Once she turned the corner, she turned visible again and smirked.

"Heh, gulible fat heads." She said, looking around the corner just enough to see the police get in thier cars and drive away. They were being so lazy today, for some odd reason. She turned her head and looked into the shadows, "Now... where is he? I was supposed to be picked up around here..."

Lost within the endless waves of people that flooded the streets of Tokyo, strode a fiarly tall man silhoutted by a long dull black trench coat.With each hollow step he carefully avoided the others moving like a fish swiming up stream, it would seem alittle sad but avoiding others on the street seemed to be the high point of his day. Hitokiri's life had for the past few years seemed rather dull even with the other few mercs coming after the bounty on his head.

Yes it seemed like mostly even wanted in on the reward on the heads of the five surviving gaurds of Shunryu Natashi. Keeping himself from dwelling too much on the past Hitokiri focused his eyes and attention on the small group of police exiting the alleyway.

"What... was that a ghost?"

...Ghost?

Needless to say the conversation of some kind of ghost in the alley caught his attention, it wasnt everyday you heard the police talk about non-sense like ghosts. Waiting a few moments for the police to leave the blue haired man slowly made his way into the alley interested in this so called ghost the local law enforcers had spoke of.

Though Hitokiri hardly believed in the exsistance of ghosts, a steady hand rested on the hilt of the muramasa just incase. There was nothing but silence throughout the alley as he walked along searching for the so called ghost except the small jingling of his chained earrings.

"Now... where is he? I was supposed to be picked up around here..."

A smirk slowly formed as he heard the female voice, it looked like he was growing closer to the ghost. It would only be a few more moments before he turned the same corner the sniper girl had turned and soon stood merely a few inches behind her.

"So you're the little ghost"

"So you're the little ghost"

Nayama, or at the moment called Alter, almost jumped, but kept her strong composure and turned to face the blue haired man behind her, "Yeah, so what's it to you? Did those lazy police send you down here to find me?" She reached behind her, ready to grab the hand gun from her shorts if he made a move, "Or are you a pervert that just heard me?" She stepped back carefully, making sure to avoid anything that would make a loud noise. He was pretty cute, but loving anyone while she was 'Alter' was a huge mistake. She took a step back and turned her foot so she could start running as soon as she needed to.

"So, who are you anyway?"

"Neither....I'm no one important"

That was true true, Hito was bout someone and no one at the same time. He was someone or really something in the sense that he exsisted while he was nothing due to the fact that if his life ended no one would know or care. His thoughts shifted from this noticing the girl reach behind her as if to grab a weapon of some sorts, this act just made him grip the hilt of the muramasa tighter

"I'd advise against that"

Funny how two complete strangers whom met by chance so quickly could be pullen into a fight. Honestly at the moment a fight was just something Hitokiri just didnt honestly want but that didnt mean he wouldnt defend himself. Well if she wasnt going to draw a weapon from the way she was standing it looked as if the 'ghost' would run away but if it was desired he could probably catch up to her.

Taking a gamble Hitokiri moved closer; earrings jingling and pale blue hair hidding more of his face as he advanced closer. Deciding to somewhat lessen the tension, the hand resting on the katana fell to his side though this might have been a mistake.

"Why were the police after you?"

Of course this was none of his buisness but you couldnt blame someone for being curious....or could you. Ah well it would just have to rely on the girl's opinion as Hitokiri stopped finally just leaving an inch between them which might not have been a good idea.

"Why were the police after you?"

Alter let go of her gun when he dropped his hand from his sword, but as he stepped forward, she flipped backward, "Keep your distance, boy." She said coldly. She pointed to the ground where she had been standing, do not cross that line. Before she had jumped away, she had made a line with her shoe. It was an easy feat, seeing as how the ground was covered in dirt and dust.

"The police is after me because I just sniped a guy." She pointed down the alley to where people were gathered at the scene of the sniper victim, "It's my job... one I'm not too proud of though, but I have to for some reason." She shrugged and folded her arms across her chest, causing her bust to be pushed up, "Anyway, answer my question: who are you?"

Though he didnt show it that boy comment was somewhat fun, he wasnt really much of a boy and the 'ghost' didnt look that far from his own age perhaps younger then him. Along with that the little line she drew on the ground was amusing, though there wasnt much that would keep him from crossing it if he wanted to.

"The police is after me because I just sniped a guy." "It's my job... one I'm not too proud of though, but I have to for some reason."

Yet another person in this city whose only purpose was to kill others, really when you thought of it, it was truely sickening to think of how many murderers there was all over. His gaze only went to where she was pointing for a moment before looking back at the sniper, at the moment he didnt exactly know what to say or think.

During the times of his life Hitokiri had seemed to vanish from the world itself, just trying to get away from people killing people but it seemed like it was just impossible to get away from death. Slowly bringing himself out of his thoughts the blue hair man turned his back to her almost as if he was going to leave. Who knows maybe thats what Hitokiri had planned, there didnt honestly seem to be much else here for him.

"Anyway, answer my question: who are you?"

"I'm noone.....but if you really need a name, it is Hitokiri"

Alter frowned when he turned to leave, "Hitokiri..." She repeated, "Wierd name, it means assassin, right? We have something in common I guess." She put her hands on her hips and sighed, "My code name is Alter, due to my different personality then when I'm being my 'other' self... it's a long story really." She looked away and began to think of what else to say, this was so dull!

"Hey! Why are you just walking around here? It's dangerous you know, and you're back is turned, how do know I won't shoot you? For all I know, you're the man I have to kill!" She said, trying to make a point. There was something about Hitokiri that she liked, it was weird, "There are some bars close to here, and I was going to one of them... you can come if you promise not to hit on me."

"No... we are nothing alike and we have nothing incommon"

Even though they just might,he just either didnt want to think so or just truely believed that they didnt. Really hitokiri just tried to think that he was nothing alike with the murderers of today, he had his fill own death in his life time and it was time to just get away from it all. When the girl spoke her own name, he mentally repeated it just trying to memorize it for a later time.

It did push his curiousity as to what she meant by 'her other self', maybe it was just something to say just to keep herself thinking that apart of her was still innocent. But the sad reality of the world was that no one was innocent no matter how much they believed they were. The one that finally made him look over his shoulder was the comment about Alter shooting him.

Not a second after that a small laught left him, as he turned back around and walked towards the young sniper. There was a smirk on his face as if the thought of his death didnt scare him at all, since it would just mean ridding the world of another killer. As he advanced forward Hitokiri just seemed to forget about the line or maybe he just didnt care about it.

"I wouldnt really care if you did, might be doing alot of people a favor by killing me......would even get a rather large bounty for doing"

Well if there wasnt any reason for her to shoot before there was a reason, with the bounty she could probably have the greatest time of her life at the bar. Once more he only left an inch of space between them, this was starting to get alittle odd with the girl now almost inviting hm to a bar with her. Ah well it might make the night more interesting if he did come along.

"Some how I'm thinking it might me the other way around if i came with you"

She reached behind herself and grabbed the gun, pulling it infront of her, as he walked closer to her, "I don't care about bounties! For all I care, I don't even have to be paid for the job I'm doing now!" As he stepped closer, her gun pressed against his chest, but now, there was only an inch of space, and the gun was at her side.

Other than her boss, he was the only one who scared her and calmed her at the same time, "All I want... all I want is to know who I am and what happened to me before I was taken in by gunman." She spoke softly, looking away, "I can do so many things, but I don't know why." She backed away from him, just enough so there was at least half a foot between them, "So... you gonna come wit' me? Or am I gonna go alone and get hit on like all the other nights I'm out this late?"

She turned and started walking, "Well, whatever... oh, Hito-whatever your name is, this isn't a regular night for me, we have more in common than you know, I'm sure."

If it wasnt for money then why did she kill, there wasnt much time to think about this as Hito soon had a gun pushed into him which really didnt last more then a second. Like some people it seemed Alter's emotions and moods just change quickly and randomly, like in this case of point her gun at him then expecting him to come along to the bar. As she went on about wanting to know who she was, Hitokiri sorta tuned out since when it came to the past of others he figured it was just none of his buisness.

This girl was like an odd mixture being cold yet still fragile, something most attracting. Blinking a few times he only nodded to answer the question if he was coming along or not,he wasnt too sure why his company was needed but oh well. His navy eyes rolled as Alter spoke of how alike they really while he just stayed silent just not wanting to argue for now.

"And what is a regular night for you?"

For one whom didnt mind being what she was, Hitokiri really had to wonder what a regular or normal night was for the girl if not doing her job was apart of this regular or normal night. Maybe one was when she didnt pick up strangers to have a drink with her or who knows what

"And what is a regular night for you?"

Alter stopped anad looked back at him, a sheepish grin plastered on her face, "Baking and cooking for the elderly people at the hospital. Recently, my job has been tough, so I haven't been able to cook much. A few of them know about my job, so they worry about me, and I hate it when people worry about me." She continued walking and stretched her arms above her head, cracking her back. She'd go and drink again tonight, and think about rent later.

"Oh damn..." She said softly when she remembered that her landlord said that if she didn't pay rent, he'd kick her out and throw her stuff in the garbage, which wasn't much. She was already three days late with the payment, so her apartment room was probably already cleared out. Good thing she had all of her really important stuff at the team base. She'd just drink and forget about it for tonight.

"Killing those not ready for death and taking care of those that are.....you are some peice of work"

When you thought about it, it didnt really make too much since for Alter to take care of the elderly while she also killed others with her little snipper job. Maybe it was something Hito wasnt meant to understand or for anyone else to understand for that matter. Sighing he just looked up towards the pitch black sky above them hands folding behind his head with his fingers intertwining with strands of blue hair.

While the duo of almost complete strangers continued their walk to the bar, Hitokiri couldnt help but to take a quick glance down just slowly looking the girl over. She was a tad odd but she wasnt that bad looking which more then made up for the snipper girl's odd behavior.

"Oh damn..."

"What is it?"

She looked back at Hito, her tough sniper face disappearing again. She grinned and began walking backwards while facing him, "No, it's nothing, nothing at all. I just... um... well, just forget it, I'm just talking to myself." She turned back around, a small blush apparent on her face.

Crap, now he'll be suspicious... damn that land lord and his drunken desicions.

She rubbed the back of her head and sighed softly, looking at the ground. She looked up and realized that they were at a dead end. Had they passed the turn? She blushed even more. She was so into her own thoughts that she didn't even think about where she was going, "Uh... oh man..." She bit her bottom lip and stomped her foot on the ground, "Damn it! I don't care he can keep that stupid apartment!!!" Then she stopped and looked back at Hitokiri, "Um... oops... I guess we have to turn back that way!" She said, trying desprately change the subject as she pointed into another alley way.

"You'll bleed if you keep doing that"

Of course he was so blandly talking about Alter biting her lip though you had to wonder how he saw that with his eyes glues to the sky. With his head still tilted skyward, a brow arched as Alter had alittle fit about the condition about her rent and apartment. This would just have to be a subject that would have to be brought up later on tonight.

"I dont feel like, walking around these alleys anymore"

That was the only thing he said when hearing the news that they were in a dead end, there was no clue how long it would take them to find the bar in the alley. So....Hito was just going to take things into his own capible hands.

Moving faster then the first few times, once more he shortened and finally closed the gap between him and Alter and did something that probably increased the chances of being shot. Hitokiri's arms moved around the young woman to pick her up and invading her personal space just a bit too much.

Bending low to the ground the blue haired man whispered some barely audible word just a second before it felt as if his body was sucking all the air our of the alley in one big gust. With the Naikikou techinque adding alittle more juice to him, with Alter still in his arms, Hitokiri jumped up out of the alley and above a few buildings. Though the duo wouldnt stay airborne for long as they slowly started to desended right int front of the bar

Alter looked back at him and grimaced as she stopped biting her lip. She didn't know how, nor did she care at the moment, how he knew that she was biting her lip.

"I dont feel like, walking around these alleys anymore"

She let out a sarcastic chukcle, "Well, unless you can ju... EEKK!!" She squealed as he wrapped his arms around her, crouching down as if he was going to actually jump, "Wha... what the hell?!" As they jumped and began to decend in front of the bar, she began to have a vision. Right where they would landed, a large man would be thrown out of the bar and hit them, knocking them into the street where a truck would come and run them over, "Hito! Land next to the door, not in front of it, if we land in front of it we could die!" She told him hurriedly before they landed.

When they landed, it all happened the way she had seen it, except, she and Hito weren't involoved. A large man was thrown from the bar onto the sidewalk and only about half a asecond later, even less, a large truck drove by, driving close and fast next to the sidewalk. She looked at him and realized what had just happened, "Y-You! You touched me!!!"
