Probably the best non-tourny fields in SoCal. The "City" is my favorite field. Urban type warfare and excellently laid out. I'd go for this field alone. Other fields of note are the trenches, the tires (called "Congo") and Firebase which is the longest walk but the layout makes for interesting games. They also have a pretty good hyperball field, however to play true speedball you have to go to another part of the park; The Compound. As of the last time I went, the Compound was still a separate field and had it's own entry fee. Major pluses to Jungle Island are air fill stations right next to where you enter the field and they chrono twice a day; once at the start and once after lunch. In the better part of 8 years going here I've only had one bad experience. It was a newer ref that just didn't get games running and resulted in us playing 2 games in 2 hours, but that is NOT the norm. It's a great field with a huge turnout every weekend. Give it a go.
Google map there or my official directions are; Take the I-15 to Lake Street on the north end of Lake Elsinore. Exit heading west. Take your first right and follow that road for about 1 mile. The field will be on your left, but it's very easy to miss. |
