NOTES:
About Character Name: Fill out your character's full name; first and patronymic for Baskar, first and last for Thiasan (no middle names!), and don't forget to include [Lord] or [Lady] at the beginning if it's nobility. Commoners need no title. Make SURE you have read through all of the
Where Am I? forum before you complete even this first part of the application; there you'll find the information necessary to choose a proper name.
Titles to add in front of the names of nobility and the priesthood may be found
here. Commoners do not register with any title, though in RP you will be referred to as 'Mister' or 'Mistress.' Chiefs, Healers, Acolytes and Shamans also need not register with a title.
Military titles must be added if your character is a
commoner in the military at a level beyond 'Conscript' and 'Private'. At the level of Conscript and Private you do not put the title before the character name (i.e. you would make the registration name 'Ryan Morrigan' instead of 'Private Ryan Morrigan'.
Lords do not put down their military title. If you're the lord of a fiefdom (or the son thereof) simply title yourself 'Lord.' Confused? Here's the deal: military titles are principally for men who were once commoners and rose through the ranks of the military; it distinguishes them from the rest of the commoners. Lords, on the other hand, are principally Lords and only secondarily ranked in the military. You may have a character whose name is, say, Lord Reginald Wilkes, who's also a military colonel; but his name will be Lord Reginald Wilkes.
Knights (that is, members of the cavalry not connected to a fiefdom) are titled 'Sir.' If your character is the son of a knight and has attained a higher rank, you should use his title in his username.
If this confuses you (and I know, it is confusing), feel free to PM me.
Military titles may be found
here.
If you want to put up part of your character sheet now and come back later, you may write {unfinished} in the subtitle of the topic you start, and we'll wait to review it.
NOTE: But come on, guys: please don't just post a completely empty character sheet. That's just silly!
Character Name: Make sure you read the information on
The Thiasans and
The Baskar; sites where you can find suitable names are listed among their information.
Canon/Original: Just answer [Canon] if your character is Canon, and [Original] if original.
Gender:Age:Family: List your parents and any brothers, sisters, spouses or children.
Spirit:: Only include if you are one of the
Endikai older than 13 (the age at which they go on their Spirit Quest).
Occupation: The Baskar don't have occupations delineated as firmly as the Thiasans, but you may if you wish specialize in something, like weaving, or working bronze, or if you are a Subtribal Chieftain; however, most Baskar are simply hunters and warriors. The Zerui have Healers; the Endikai, however, only have Shamans, which perform many of the same functions but also communicate with the 'Spirit World'.
Noble ladies don't have an occupation. If, say, your lady is an artist or accomplished musician, or a scholarly sort--though that's relatively rare--,you can put that down. Most Lords would be ranked in the army, and/or run their own fiefdom; you may list that information here.
Place of Habitation: (if Baskar, this means specifying da'Endika or da'Zeru; if Thiasan, name a fiefdom or a town)
Physical Description (five sentence minimum): I will say this: I will be immediately put off an application if your physical description is very much
longer than the five sentence minimum, or contains absurdly romantic phrases like 'her sparkling azure orbs.' Simple is best, for the sake of the root admin's sanity and goodwill.
This is not the place to be overly poetic. Personality (eight sentence minimum):History (ten sentence minimum):Plot Potential: (
NEW) This is quite important; we've gotten a bunch of apps from, in particular, Ladies, who end up stranded with little plot prospect. Your character needs to have some potential for RP on the site. What sorts of relationships do you think your character can form? What do you think your character will do during the war? If male, can he avoid being conscripted/will he be trained for the military and eventually go to war? If female, what will she do when war breaks out and most of the men are at the front? What sorts of plots are you looking for in the meantime? You don't need to be extremely specific, but without plot prospects, there's a danger you'll wind up bored or at a dead end.
SAMPLE RP (WITH THIS CHARACTER ONLY): This is a new rule: we now require that all RP samples be done with the character you're creating, so we can see how he/she will play on the boards. You don't need to give us much: just meet the ten-sentence minimum for posts.
What's the name of the Creator God the Endikai worship?: Yes, you read that right. Look through the
Where Am I? forum carefully, and you'll find you're able to answer it.
