The First Half went very well for the Demons. With The first drive of the game, the Demons went 71 yards in 14 plays with starting RB Justin Huber running for 29 yards. To cap the drive off Starting QB Jason Crall drove the ball in on a 1 yard QB-keeper.

RB Justin Huber had a Great first half, and a great game overall for that matter. Huber rushed for 108 yards, and topped it off with a one yard run into the endzone with just over a minute left in the half.

-"We've got a lot of young guys up front that have been working hard to get better all preseason," Huber said of the young offensive line. "Those guys really gave me great lanes to run through all night."

Huber ended the night with 35 touches for 139 yards, and a TD.

Star Wingback Levi Bayer had a decent game. He had 9 touches for 68 yards. Bayer did bust one for about 30/35 yards for a touchdown but it was called back.

-"There were some nerves taking the field for the first night leading the team," said Starting Senior QB Jason Crall. "I knew from the first play, the first hit of the night, that it was going to be a good night for us."

Crall Had a Pretty good game as well last night. In the first half he topped up the opening drive with a one yard TD keeper. But unfortunately missed the extra point. Crall went 1 for 3 on passing for 9 yards, and kept the ball himself 13 times for 40 total rushing yards.

When I tried to calculate Crall's QB rating of the night I got 9.0278.

Former ACHS student and Sophmore starting HB for Davis County Trevor Fowler had a decent game for his first ever varsity game. Fowler rushed for 72 yards on 16 touches and having 7 tackles.

-"Success doesn't come right away, you've got to keep working for it," Albia head coach Gary Gravert said after the Demons picked up their first season-opening win in five eyars. "It's just like getting water out of those hand pumps. You've got to keep pumping away and working at it. Eventually, you'll get things flowing."

`"Our running game is just like the pump. We just had to keep pumping away and we'll get positive things coming our way," said Huber.

-"We're a bit smaller," said Crall, " but we keep that pump flowing. Its going to make it a lot of fun this season."

All of these quotes explain the meaning behind the motto of the ACHS Football team this year, "Keep it flowing" and "Preparing for success one pump at a time."

The story behind this is that to get good things to happen, you have to give into the cause first. Like the pump, you have to "prime" it, or give to it, before you can get it going. In football ways you have to work hard and go to the practices to get any better and get playing time. Then once you get it going its hard at first, to keep it going, but as you keep pumping, the water flows out easier. This is the instance in football.

The Demons are going to be working hard on and off the field to keep the water flowing, and to get to the playoffs again this year.
