i'm with you. not as big a fan of winter as i used to be. after a feww years in buffalo you hope the winters are mild

snow is fine, and cold without wind is bearable. But the cold wind and ice rain is enough for me to hate winter.

We got the whole enchildada last week in Kansas City. Bitter wind chills, then a layer of ice and sleet, followed by ten inches of snow. I froze for an hour three straight times at the bus stop waiting for late buses, and then fell flat on my back once in the parking lot, miraculously escaping unscathed with no injuries.

Is it March yet? <_<

I agree its the wind that kills you. my biggest problem thoguh i lack winter clothes. i wear short sleeves. onyl have a leather jacket. no hat etc. so trhe 15 minute walk is killer by the end of it

I agree its the wind that kills you.

The effect of a cold wind is generally under-rated on weather forecasts. When I used to live in Edinburgh it generally wouldn't have much in the way of snow or even ice most of the year, but the wind was what really made it feel wintry and in Edinburgh it seemed to be windy most of the time.

yeah nyc the wind can be killer in certain areas. i remember walking down west end ave wind would blow so hard it was hard to breath

If you wish to experience was "cold" really is, come visit Montreal in January and February! :P Still can't figure out how it can be hotter than in Hawaii here in the summer, and still be this fucking cold during winter. <_<

I'm still waiting for winter to show up here in the city. It was 60 a day or two ago.

guipago - February 11, 2007 01:59 AM (GMT)
It's freezing. I love winter. I love snow. As long as we have snow we can have cold. Don't like the cold and the ice. Don't like brown earth and cold. it doesn't do it for me.

I want my three feet of snow.

I also want snow. We had it one day, but it was gone so quickly that it seemed like a tease. According to the latest forecasts, we're supposed to get snow on Tuesday night and Wednesday. It's a 100% chance of precipitation, but it also features the dreaded words "Wintry Mix", which means the beautiful snowfall is likely to be ruined by freezing rain, creating the effect of walking around while people are dumping Slurpees on your head.

Not so fun.

RaceBannon42 - February 12, 2007 04:02 PM (GMT)
Today we are supposed to stay above zero all day for the first time all month it seems like. I actually managed to take the dog out for a walk yesterday even! But its back to below zero tommorow. Sigh :(

guipago - February 14, 2007 09:52 PM (GMT)
Um... about that snow. I can deal with the cold, if only the skies would open up and offer unto us some SNOW.

I hate cold weather, unless it's snowing. Luckily (or unluckily) here in Virginia it didn't really get below 50 much until February, and it's currently snowing (thankfully).
