Title: RSURS Release Date?
JohnLocke - June 21, 2007 03:49 AM (GMT)
When is Red Seas Under Red Skies being released? The webpage just says Summer 2007, I believe it used to say June 30, and Amazon says July 31.
Has there been an official release date posted somewhere yet?

It got pushed back to July 31st here in the states. Dunno why. I think it's out today (6/21) in the UK though :(.

It's *supposed* to be today in the UK, according to the Orion Group website. However I can't find it. On Amazon it still says "available to pre-order". All other sites I've looked at say "out of stock" or "currently unavailable".
Most frustrating. Anybody know what's going on?

I can't find it either - went out to the nearest city specifically to find it, too!
Amazon says it'll ship within 9-11 days now, and Waterstones is still listing it as available for pre-order. That's actually the third time this year I've wanted a book from amazon and they've not managed to get it for the release date.
Though in this case there's no listings under amazon marketplace, so I'm guessing no one else has it either.

"Thank you for ordering from www.waterstones.com.
The details of your order are listed below.
Order No: 00422265
1 Scott Lynch Red Seas Under Red Skies GBP 9.11
SubTotal: GBP 9.11
Shipping & Handling: GBP 1.50
Total: GBP 10.61"
Waterstones' S&H is less than Amazon's if you're only getting RSURS (or you can get it delivered to a branch for free). Plus if you use the Waterstones promotion code SQ2985 before 12midnight BST tonight, you get 10% off your entire order! There's also the 16% cashback if you use Quidco.
Only problem is, I'm still waiting for RSURS to be picked up from the warehouse

According to this thread
on the Chronicles forum, the release date has been put by a week :(
Oh well, at least I'll have time to finish reading Reaper's Gale
before RSURS is out.

Now we'll be almost in sync.

The hardback edition of RSURS was released yesterday here in the U.K and I bought mine from the new Waterstones in Manchester's Arnedale Centre. There was only one copy so I bought it :D
In another Waterstones in Manchester I saw the Sub.press edition of TLOLL so I'll be getting thst next week.

Waterstones has the release date @ the 28th, but check out their website to get a free copy of Lies for 1000 lucky people. I'm not pimping the company, honest.

You git! I went to the Arndale centre yesterday specially for it, and there was just a conspicously hardback-sized GAP!! :P
There's reportedly one in Manchester Deansgate today, but I can't be bothered chancing it.
JohnLocke - June 23, 2007 05:04 PM (GMT)
It's very interesting that it's not listed on Lynch's webpage.
He's also been pretty quiet on his LJ lately too. Hopefully all's well!!
I would think that he'd be promoting the release date like none other on his webpage. Maybe they're preparing for a big announcement....
williamjm - June 23, 2007 08:47 PM (GMT)
I bought a copy today in Heffers in Cambridge, so it is definitely released :)
They did still have one hardback left if anyone else is in the area and wants it ;)
AliEvilTwin - June 23, 2007 09:20 PM (GMT)
Oops, sorry Angelan, I didn't mean to steal your book :)
I saw it in the Arndale but went to the Deansgate branch instead to buy it as they had another book that I wanted.I searched everywhere for RSURS,couldn't find it and was told that it had sold out :( I had to rush back to the Arndale and hope that MY copy was still there. It was :D
On another note, Amazon has started pre-orders for 'The Republic Of Thieves', the next Gentleman Bastards book.I better read RSURS fast :o
Randy's Girl - June 26, 2007 06:08 PM (GMT)
We've got the trade paperback in our shop, not hardback. Plus two different covers for TLOLL.
AliEvilTwin - June 30, 2007 05:58 PM (GMT)
I saw the large softback edition of RSURS at the Waterstones in Preston....and it was signed
Unfortunatley, I couldn't afford to buy it but it's there if anyone wants to snap it up.

Rell - August 3, 2007 11:31 PM (GMT)
Thank god. I've been out of town so I've only read about 5 or 6 chapters so far, but I'm glad.
