The Packs
Where the wolves reside

Current Active Staff:

Loki Abcat
Golden Moon

Season: New Bloom
(Birthing season)

Events:

Wolves have been trickling in from all parts of the land, each with their own histories and intent to make new lives here in the Great Land. Many are headed towards the fabled Seven Corners.

Only the Tundra territory has yet to be claimed. However, many dominance positions in all packs are open! Look here for a complete list of pack wolves.

The Wolves

A howl splits the night, and from the mist rises a new generation in which wolves reign supreme. The elements have split the land into seven - seven regimes of which could only be controlled by the finest and most powerful of animals. It is time for the wolves to thrive in their world of alliances, danger, and excitement, as well as periods of peace and serenity.

The lands of many climates all whisper your name . . . Will you heed the call of The Packs of the legends?

***

Welcome to The Packs! This is a semi-intermediate wolf RPG recently resurrected from it's lengthy hiatus. Feel free to read the rules, take the VERY scary new member test (not really XD), make a new wolf and begin playing!

Seven Corners is here, everyone! Get your wolves down to the meadow - there lies whispers of a new plot!

A Competition Corner has been added to the Lounge! Go ahead and check it out! ^^

Deserted Mountain

The high, slate gray mountain is swarming with rabbits and deer who take advantage of the lack of wolves. Loners can stay here without the worry of other packs, but beware - some of them can be hostile.

The Great Oak

At the crest of the cliff lies a single huge, majestic oak with boughs that seem to reach the stars. It is in a cave beneath its roots that you can come to speak to the heavenly Lunessa Pack, ancestors of all the wolves.

The Tundra Camp

This is where the members of Tundra live. It is a shallow dip in the land with soft dirt walls - many large tundra animals, such as the foxes and coyotes, have dug their burrows in the walls to be shielded from the wind. These holes could be expanded to accomodate large dens.
(Note: It is currently permitted for the first Tundra alpha to customise this camp)

The Tundra Hunting Grounds

This part one of the few parts of the Tundra not dominated by the northern snow and ice, and hosts pleantiful prey in the season before the herds migrate. As it is so, to steal even a mouse from this precious area at any time would get your ears would get ripped off for sure.

Crystal Cove

Known to Tundra wolves alone, a large rock in their territory gaurds the entrance to a cave filled with hundreds of pointed ice stones. At sunset during winter alone, when the sun is alligned, its rays shine through the hole in the roof to cast beautiful dancing lights across the ice.

The Plains Camp

Amongst a thick field of grass lies a quiet clearing, from which protrudes a mighty rock. Around this great stone, tucked deep within the earth and long grasses, lies many dens. The whole clearing glows a beautiful deep amber once the sun reaches the point of midday.

Plains Hunting Grounds

This wide plains of heather and long grasses are ideal to the fleet wolves of the Plains. Here the breezey expanses of land have little to few trees or shrubs for cover, and are inhabited by extremely swift-footed prey. One must be both stealthy and fast to catch anything here!

Old Willow Tree

This ancient willow tree is the only big tree on the plains. Its the second most revered tree to the wolves that live there, too, as even though it isn't nearly as grand as the Great Oak, the willow's sweeping branches never lose their leaves to the harsh clutches of Cold Ice season.

The Forest Camp

Forest Camp is a small clearing hidden to the west of a stream. On the far side lies the Aspen Tree, whose huge roots fan out to create multiple dens and food piles. A small pile of rocks at the edge of camp makes yet another den, as does the huge crack in the tree's trunk.

Forest Hunting Grounds

Full of fur-clad prey and running streams where they could drink, the Forest Hunting Grounds is a great place for the hunter's to feed their pack. The trees here have low-hanging branches that some elite members of the pack know how to climb.

Moonlight Rock

This beautiful rock sits at the edge of the woods. With its smooth surface and multiple chrystal implants, this majestic boulder reflects strong rays of moonlight in a glowing radiance. Strangely enough, it looks perfectly ordinary during the day and when the moon is waning.

The Sky Lake Camp

A small chain of islands stretch across part of a shining lake, obscuring the beautiful sky reflection with groups of small trees and shrubs. The undergrowth gives way to small clearings in each island that are surrounded by great den spaces in the bushes and rocks.

Sky Lake Fishing and Hunting Grounds

This wide, beautifully clear lake is also a home to small fish and waterfowl, such as herons and ducks. Herds of deer also frequently visit here in good weather. It is rather difficult learning to fish in such a broad expanse of water, but once the skill is mastered food is plentiful.

Icicle Creek

This creek, though way too cold for the likes of fish and other water animals, is perfect drinking water compared to the rather salty tang of Sky Lake. It runs cool even in the glare of Hot Sun, and when it has frozen over it's great for sliding in Cold Ice.

The River Camp

A small clearing sits beside one of the only places where the great river is calm. Here, long grassy areas are fringed with reeds and rocks to create a small, serene, and well protected place for living. Little deciduous trees make up a tiny well-spaced forest around the meadow.

River Hunting and Fishing Grounds

A great, thunderous river races through the territory, gouging the land to its will. Quite unlike the serene waters by the camp, the place most favored for hunting is a part of the river with an extremely powerful current. Deer and other water animals can not escape when hunted here.

Dry River Bed

This part of the river has been dry for decades. The mighty gorge once split two ways, until over time one side of it sealed up and the water level rose, having no other output for it's powerful current. Now it is simply a deep, dry scar in the land, barren of water even in the rain.

The Swamp Camp

This is the only clear water source in the area, bordered by willow trees and sweet grasses, and trees with huge roots from under which could be used as dens. The thick mud and clay could also be used for homes.

The Swamp Hunting Grounds

Prey here is uncommon despite the great expanse of land. The marsh harbors mudfish and top-skimming bugs, which also attract an occasional raccoon or squirrel, and some fish can be found in the bogs. Deer and moose are extremely rare here, though herbs are abundant.

Sparkling Reservoir

Here is a beautiful body of water, where water serpents lurk in the depths of the pond, in the trees, and in mud. Along with them are a few dangerous-looking lizards. A grassy, serene clearing surrounds it - an extremely rare sight for the likes of the Swamp grounds.

The Desert Camp
This arid and hopeless landscape is where the wolves of the Desert Pack live This strange desert holds lots of mysteries… One of these mysteries is the old Twoleg structures that can be found in all places of the desert. These structures have weird forms, the biggest of which makes up most of the Desert Pack’s camp. This structure is a large, cave-like structure built entirely out of marble. Many pillars and columns can be found sunken in the sand, and some are still standing.

Desert Oasis

Here is a sanctuary for the creatures of the desert. It consists of a small stream, allowing a handful of tough plants and trees to grow in the middle of a void of sand. The Oasis prey is still scarce due to the heat, but overflowing when compared to the rest of the desert ground.

Nada

There's nothing here except sand, my friends.

Blank, naught, nihility, nil, nix, none, nonentity, nothingness, nought, null, nullity, oblivion, vacuity, void, zero, zip, zilch... And cactus juice.

Continue on through here for a couple of days and you'll find yourself with a nice big sunburn, a couple of friendly vultures, and some lovely hallucinations.

Seven Corners

All seven territories connect at Seven Corners, a great meadow of clover and moonlight. In the center is a great rock with seven moon shaped dents formatted in a semi-circle, facing the majority of the rest of the clearing. All the wolves meet here to exchange news - or during times of war, it can be used as a battlefield. At no times is it ever considered a place of treaty.
