A Tokio Kidnapping: Love Story

Chapter 3 - Siblings

Rin pounded on her locker. “Piece of Crap!” she yelled at it.

“Calling it crap isn’t gonna open it.” a boys voice came from behind Rin.

“Oh, Hey Mizuho.” Rin sighed as the boy, Mizuho, nudged her aside and opened her locker with ease. “Damn, Mizuho! How do you do that!?” Rin exclaimed as she did every morning, annoyed as usual.

“Because I’m just so amazing!” he posed. Mizuho had a different answer every morning, Rin couldn’t understand how he came up with most of them.

“More like he’s the number one juvenile delinquent!” Huine had walked up behind Mizuho, a small pile of books in her arms.

“Oh THANK you little sis!” Mizuho laughed and put Huine in a headlock.

“That was not a compliment!”

Rin laughed to herself as they continued fighting and threw her bag in her locker. It wasn’t a book bag, she hated book bags, it was one of those messenger bags, the ones with only one strap and were probably made for laptops originally. She picked up her sketchbook and slammed her locker shut.

The warning ball rang and Rin waved as Huine dragged Mizuho, who was waving back, off saying “…and didn’t I tell you to stop flirting with Rin-chan? She only likes you as a friend..” they rounded the corner and were gone. Rin sighed.

She was always jealous of her friends. Huine had an awesome, older, twin brother. That was Mizuho, and Jiyuu had her little sister, Mara. Mara was so cute! Though Rin did have Midori, she and Midori had the same birthday, were neighbors, and had been friends with each other for as long as they could remember. They had pretended that they were twins torn apart ever since they’d met the real twins. They were from Germany, vacationing in the US for the first time, Rin and Midori were six, almost seven, and the twins were about eight. Bill and To Kaulitz…

The four had been best friends, and their parents had agreed to spend the rest of there vacation in the area so that they could play together more. Rin just remembered something, she had favored Bill over Tom, and Midori had favored Tom. So why did Rin like Tom and Midori Like Bill? She sighed once again as the crowded halls thinned.

She jumped as the tardy bell rang. Crap! Late again. She ran off to class after checking to make sure her bunny charm necklace was still secure around her neck. If she lost that, she’d die.

-x-x-

Rin burst into her math class.

“Miss Camri, you’re late.” the teacher scolded, pushing the rim of his glasses up his perfect, non-crooked nose. “Why is this?” he talked like that sometimes, Rin thought it was funny.

“Uhm, Well I was daydreaming by my locker.” she blurted out the all too true story as some cheerleader wearing way too much make-up laughed at her. Ugh, Maria. “Sorry Mr. Edwards.”

“Please take your seat.” he sighed and waited as Rin hurried to her seat and plopped down. “Make sure you take notes.” Mr. Edwards told the class as he began writing on the chalkboard.

Rin couldn’t pay attention and didn’t bother trying to tell the truth. She thought back to the twins. Oops. Of course she’d remember that, her older sister. She hated thinking about her, it was depressing and it made Rin wanna kill someone.

Her sister, Arima, was ten years older than Rin. Talk about age gap. One day when Rin was six, almost seven, Arima took her downtown for shopping.

Yeah, right, shopping. Rin rolled her eyes remembering how her older sister had left her in the bookstore and ran out with some emo-goth-football player mix of a guy. Ew. She hadn’t seen Arima since, she called their mother every so often but she’d never once come back to the house.

Back at the bookstore it got late and Rin was kicked out because they were closing. She’d wandered the street calling for her big sister but eventually gave up and sat in an alleyway rolled up and hugging her legs, it was freezing.

After about ten minutes of crying, they found her. They were so nice, Bill and Tom. Bull had pulled her to her feet and hugged her, not speaking a word. Tom stood behind him, an extremely worried look on his face. Back then Tom had only recently started his dreadlocks and Bill’s hair was his black mess of spikes, probably just recently dyed.

“What is… uhm…bad?” Bill struggled with his lack of English knowledge at the time, and his heavy German accent.

“Big Sis left me.” Rin had sobbed into his shoulder and Tom put his hand on her head.

“Don’t worry lil Bunni.” he’s called her, “Bill und I will help you. O.K.?” he pronounced his W’s as V’s. It was cute.

Rin hadn’t notice their parents standing by back then but she remembered hearing them speak to Bill and Tom, in German probably.

“Miss Camri!” Mr. Edwards’ voice was sharp and angry. Rin snapped back to reality.
