Crap, that's a lot of polygons. You sure that's feasible considering the amount of ships you'll have ingame?

yes you cannot have as many units in BFG Mod as in DOW we staying close to TT as possible, though the last mission will stress most computers, we will make a battle for cadia, 5 chaos armies against SM, Eldar, IN and Necrons, it will be chaos literally

It won't literally be chaos, but I imagine Chaos would be involved
Anyhow, I imagine you wouldn't be allowed more than 20 standard ships per army. It just wouldn't be practical. -------------------- |

um, 3 battleships, 4 grand cruisers, 4 heavy cruisers, 12 cruisers, 24 escorts i believe was the suggested utmost max

Damn, that's a lot of polygons. I take it that there won't be as many polygons in terms of scenery & projectiles right?
3 Battle cruisers? Aren't they super-units? Wouldn't it be better if they were limited at one instead? -------------------- |

I'm waiting to script AI for these guys.. The level of detail for the ships is FANTASTIC!
I think if each major Capital ship was 4-7k polys and you had 20+ other ships in-screen at once each ~3-5k polys that wouldn't kill most computers? Why? Build 10 Squads of Space Marines fully upgraded + sergeant and move them on-screen at once on your computer. Is that slow? So I doubt a large # of ships on-screens with a black space background will slow things up. Usually its the FX applied to each on that helps slow things down. |

I'd think that to make these space ship models look realistic however, they'd be rigged with FX.

Wouldn't think that would take long.. they're battlecruisers.. not much there except move, rotate (on the spot), fire yer wee turrets, fire your grand cannon, launch some mini fighters, thanks for coming out! Weeee!

Actually, Only Eldar Space Ships can turn on the spot in BFG. Other ships have to make a manuveur to rotate.

Necron ships just need to be placed down on the BFG TT game and all the human players boot themselves to the head with a rusty-nail! Better that then face em. |

HAHA Tyranids are really good at taking out necrons, numbers and working together, eg the vanguard highlights a ship, all can hit it etc
But we protest the S#@! models gw released for nids, so we are making our own based on an award winning fleet conversion out of 40k bits, looks the part, i supose now u want an image?
