Well, the Smargex is now modeled & textured (by myself)! See the stages of it's creation here:

It looks kind of like a 'symbiote' thing that they use in Stargate (SG1) with the Gu'hauled people (-i'm not sad, it really is a good program!).

Anyways, we need an animator for this. I'm gonna try to animate the new building for the Scorpion grav tank...

Yeah, the symbiotes are supposed to keep the people alive, but if you ask me, like the smargex, they look as if they'd do more harm than good!

Smargexi (decided plural) are supposed to be like the grave digger worm from Resident Evil 3.

The smargexi often scavenge on dead bodies after battles, but there've been reports that catachans have been reported missing & have been attacked by these monstrous creatures.

I personally believe that these tings shouldn't actaully be that tough, but would be powerful in assault. Something like 8500 HP, which is about the same HP as the Bloodthirster in our mod.

How big is it supposed to be in proportion to, say, an average Space Marine? Also, what is its movement supposed to be- does it flop or roll across the battlefield or does it dig underground and attack from beneath?

Probably easiest to animate it 'side-winding' across the battlefield. It's gonna be pretty big. The mouth will be about 50% bigger in diameter than a marine in full, & the spikes coming from the head shell & mouth are nearly 2ce the length of a marine too.

It looks like something related to Chaos, but it could be something from Warhammer fantasy just put into 40k like various other things have been. Either that or its a lone faction- no clear enemy but just a lust to kill anyone and everyone.

it looks like a tyranid unit to me... it will be a beast though crush lotsa things and take names left and right, i can only amagine the look on a rines face wen it come downto him and his insignificant knife compared to it....

I'm trying to learn how to animate things now, or at least soon. I'm tweaking the FX on the Falcon grav tank at the moment.

I can actually animate it, but I wanna get the scorpion properly working 1st. There's then the matter of the new building for it too. I may even consider some of the nastier variants of the scorpion, like the Cobra.

Nah, I wouldn't do that as it makes the game very uneven. If you have loads of special units for a particular team, other teams will obviously be lacking in anything decent because of that. You should create one thing for one team and then one thing for another team, and so on- like a rota effect.

Besides, I don't think Eldar particularly need much more things to help them- they're already pretty powerful in DoW anyway.
