Title: New Eldar
Description: Wat do you Guys think?

Bloodrage - August 22, 2006 11:15 AM (GMT)
Hi there. I'm new to the forums so will briefly introduce myself.

I have been playing TT for about a year and a half now and have a 2000 point Tau army. I have also recently begun to collect raven guard and so far have 10 assult marines and a jump pack chaplain. However, with the prospect of new eldar, i am considerin postponing my Raven Guard and startin some eldar. Wat do you guys think of the new models? I like most of em but the reapers look a bit robotronic.......

Also just a quick question. Does anyone know if the models will be metal or plastic!

Lemme just compile a info box for you...

New Eldar releases:

Avatar - unknown (rumours about GW releasing a new one);
Rangers - metal (sadly);
Dire avengers - Plastic;
All other aspects (Reapers; Banshees; Scorpions; (possibly warp spiders) & Fire Dragons) - metal;
Exarches (apart from Dire avengers) - assumably metal, though the ones I saw were either in plastic, or were resin casts;
War walkers - Plastic (I was told);
Wraithlord - Plastic;
Autarch - Unknown (possibly metal);
Farseer - assumably Plastic.

The wraithlord model so far is my favourite. When I go to games day, I'm gonna try to buy one.

Apparently, I was told by a GW staff member that a large portion of the Eldar range are gonna be at games day for sale! OMFG!

omg cool. sounds like this year is a gd time to go then!!

Zany Reaper - August 23, 2006 12:18 PM (GMT)
Well, I only want to buy one model at Games day - the Wraithlord. I have a metal one, & it's falling to pieces. How crap...

Besides, the new one has new rules in the codex anyways.

However, the codex won't be in Games day.

i hurd its comin in october.. so if it is it sounds like my birthday will be eldar filled!

Zany Reaper - August 23, 2006 10:28 PM (GMT)
Actually, one GW staff member (over at the HQ in Nottingham via phone) told me that the range will appear in November.

My birthday's on the 1st of November, so again, I won't get much for that, which is fine seeing as I don't want Miniatures for my Birthday.
I've practically stopped collecting as my armies are so far complete.

However, the Wraithlord's something else!

pity eldar are so cheesy... (*cosses fingers* cmon nerfed starcannons cmon!)

but in spite of that im going to do an aliatoc force with the new codex. though im not going to take it any further than 500pts i fancied a change from the old: "charge!!!!, hey they shooting us! OMG! they killed brother jeff! CHARGE SOME MORE!!!"

instead i m going to go with the: "heh look at them n00bs charging at us!, BOOM! HEADSHOT!" way of war

Zany Reaper - September 2, 2006 11:07 PM (GMT)
Meh, they might weaken starcannons a bit, but if they were to weaken them too much, then things would get plain unfair.

for a 500 point alaitoc list, I use a Farseer with guide inside a Folcon grav tank with a weapon & CTmatrix.
Get the rangers too, along with some cheap guardians to fill in the gaps.

¬_¬

i do mean a non cheesey 500 pts list...

i mean who takes a falcon in 500 pts?! (apart from you)

basicly its going to be tons of rangers and a cheepo farseer with guide to make them as close to 100% accurate as they can get.

Zany Reaper - September 4, 2006 03:45 PM (GMT)
In other words, a slow & boring list.

I make use of my troops to get the most powerful (& if possible, fast) army I can muster.
It's not cheesy, just sensible, & harder to defeat.

Ummm.... Very detailed

Zany Reaper - September 24, 2006 07:43 PM (GMT)
YES!

I saw it at Games day. I could've bought it, but I got a Necron Pylon instead.

It's not that big anyways. Only about 75% bigger than the standard avatar.

Costs 45 quid.

thats not that bad, hows the pylon for the mod?

Zany Reaper - September 25, 2006 07:31 PM (GMT)
Unfortunately, but not surprisingly - Alan has done nothing after I last e-mailed him, which was 2 weeks ago.

It'd be a laugh If I finish painting my TT pylon before he textures our 3D model.
