Well Mortals,
I think it was a successful day and I didn't have to zap any of you
with Lightning for stupid questions. Thanks to the winners Steve and
Tony for donating the prize army to the Club and well done to Tim for
winning the Raffle (I note he chose a number less than 9 to play it
safe!). The results are as follows:

Steve- An average of 5.88 with 2 losses in rounds 4 and 5 (Mark and
Mike I think). Also scored the highest score with 10 pts v Lewis Tony-
5.88 with only 1 loss in round 6 (against Steve). Consistently
successful with those Roman Blades and Auxilia. Mark- 5.00 with 3
impressive rounds in 1, 7 and 8 scoring 7 pts in them Mike- 4.75 with
the second highest score (9 v Scott), though alas losing to Tim in
Round 3.

Ian - 3.88 with the most fun army -all knights! Achieving 2 6s and 2
7s in results- When it was good it was very, very good, but when it
went bad, oh dear. Keith- 3.14 Less successful with the Syracuse this
year, but had a good win against Barrie. Lewis- 2.75 Did pretty well
with the Ancient Brits, scoring 2 x 5s, a 6 and a 4 in 4 of the 8
rounds. Alas in 3 battles not killing anything let him down and the
"Cannae" disaster against Steve should mean Steve gives you a birthday
present this year. Tim- 2.38 Using the Achaemenid Persians, did very
well at killing 3 elements in 3 games including his round 1 match
against Steve where he killed 3 elements stopped Steve winning the top
prize exclusively.

Barrie- 1.5 Not such a great tournament for Barrie, having just
recovered for the lurg, but did cause differential reductions for five
of his 8 opponents.

Scott- 0.86 Alas didn't do well as our last minute entry, with an army
of extremes. The Ostrogoths were successful against Barrie's Patrician
Romans in Round 5, but the effort exhausted them, and they caused no
further casualties susequently.

Thank you all for playing.

Dave

We will take the oppurtunity to thank Dave for Organising a very well run and smooth competition even though we put the pressure on at the last minute to fit in another entry. Well done all who played a very interesting days gaming.

For those interested I have uploaded a report of my own games to my website. You can find a link to the full article from my "Across the Table" Blog at:
http://thewargamesroom.blogspot.com/

The link can be found under "TAGCON DBA Report"

Unfortunately the few photos I took didn't come out that well. No doubt becuase I was still suffering a nervous twitch after naval landings behind my lines, Ian's charging Vandal cavalry and a raft of other disasters.

I look forward to Tagcon 2010 and more 15mm DBA.
