Greetings from the Commissioner

Just a reminder that the TAG NFL Spike! Magazine Trophy Competition will start the first wednesday of February. I look forward to the skillful play, good sportsmanship and purity of the field which is going to be displayed (who am I kidding - blatant fouls, dirty tricks and excessive mayhem rule!!! biggrin.gif ).

Remember, if you haven't played before and would like to join in, either let me know or just turn up on the day - there are several spare teams if you don't have one and we are more than willing to help a new player with the rules.

Also this should be the new 'thread' (I hope that's the right term) for the TAG Blood Bowl, so please start using this one. Feel free to post your Blood Bowl comments here - I'll try to post a regular league table here (as well as in Spike! Magazine).

Finally have you guys noticed the posts on a Blood Bowl League in Christchurch?? It mentioned the possiblity of a tournament - that could be fun!! cool.gif

Well, its a win to the Maulers 'n' Brawlers in the first round, but....no casualties scored - I feel so ashamed... sad.gif

Full credit to my opponent who was playing his first game, he did well to keep me on my toes, and actually quite a few of my team spent a considerable amount of time getting back up - not bad for wet behind the ears 'umies!

Memorable moments
My huge black orc lashing out in frenzy... and doing nothing more than slapping his opponent around a bit.
Watching my favourite gobbo make a diving catch to grab the ball and score.
The crowd did about as much damge as either side, with each side losing a member over the sidelines, only to have them come back stunned, but alive.

News from the rats nest.

With blood bowl 09 kicking of the Father rats where more than will to play again, But when the draw was set up they knew they where in for a hard game with 'eavy eds boy the current champs.

With bith side on edge of there sits with the'ead bangers running on to hte feild one poor rat just sliped and sightly push one of the green skins he might of been hold a broken bottle at the time. This even brook in to an all out riot.

When this reporter woke up form his little nap from the ork crowed the score was 3-1 to the orks.

meaning the rats had lost the game but on the bright side I was told that 3 orks where removed from the feild by the rats and the ork captain had screemed like a little Goblin when his hip was broken.

that all from the rats nest this week.

Back to you Grim

Greetings from the Commissioner

The crowds gathered in anxious anticipation of the final match of the round between the Norse 'Boozers & Bruisers' and the Dark Elf 'Umbral Raiders'. First blood was scored by the Raiders in a classic display of evil sadism fouling a downed Boozer, allowing a linesman to sneak in a Touchdown in the ensueing mayhem.
However the Boozers's proved far more resilient in the exchanges after the Touchdown and soon the Raiders' Knockout and Casualty boxes began to fill (though the Raiders may have been slow to empty due to the buxom Bloodweiser Babes handing out topgrade Bloodweiser!!) and 'Odin the Piloc' for the Boozers' brilliant passing game allowed the Boozers to lead 2-1.
With only 6 elves on the field, Mistress Helga lead the Raiders on a desperate charge up the side of the field, allowing her to sneak through with the ball for a 2-2 draw (though the Boozers definitely came ahead if you count casualties inflicted!).

Therefor the Table after round 1 is as follows

1) 'Eavy 'Ead Bangers 3
2) Mawlers 'n' Brawlers 3
3) Tree Huggers 3
4) Boozers & Bruisers 3
5) Umbral Raiders 2
6) Underworld Avengers 1
7) Father Rats 1
8) The Whites 1

The Green Geckos will be playing in Round 2 (4th March 2009)

Also some rumors (which with all good rumours may or maynot have any truth too them wink.gif )
- A Chaos, Amazon & (another) Orc teams are making enquiries about admission to the TAG NFL
- The Commissioner is looking at having a special round later in the Year
- The Whites are looking at a namechange
- There could be the introduction of a third Trophy competition, played with irregular rounds

Another round another loss in points by the M&B - but 4 casualties on the opposing side, so the boyz are happy wink.gif .

Playing against fragile but quick elves was always going to be interesting, especially when it turned out that dark elves arent all that fragile. I must have torn through the armour on almost every elf out there, only to get 'stunned' on virtually every roll.... grrr.

For the record, my faithful Black Orc Blocker, "Sturk" has just recieved his 31st SPP, just edging him past "Taz 'The Hoff'" on 30.

Memorable moments
Sturk chasing a Dark elf across the field for two turns, completely failing to do more than push him around until the 4th blow.
Karamon, my other Black orc, actually intercepted a pass! Im fairly certain it wasnt on purpose though...
The Raiders must have taken something during the half time break, since in the first round afterwards half my team wound up flat on their backs or worse...

Beware - both Black Orcs now have "Piling on"... mwahaha ohmy.gif

just a question for you are your mutation roll like mine where I only get them on dubbles or is there something with the team that lets you get them each time you roll?

To answer Troll's question.

Thunderchild is using the experimental Underworld Avengers team - a feature of which is that everyone in it has mutation skills as a normal skill, meaning to gain a mutation skill a double is not required!

Greetings from the Commissioner

The Table after round 2 is as follows

1) 'Eavy 'Ead Bangers 6
2) Father Rats 5
3) Umbral Raiders 5
4) Mawlers 'n' Brawlers 4
5) Underworld Avengers 3
6) Boozers & Bruisers 3
7) Tree Huggers 3
8) The Tin Cans 0 (Error in last on-line table said they had 1 point)

The Tin Cans were formerly known as the Whites, but they had a name change.

Still no sign yet of the Green Geckos but they are definitely in the competition (must be trying to avoid the hunters looking for lizardskin for wallets & handbags!).

On a side note, what is everyone's opinion of the Bonus Point for Casualties? huh.gif Good or Bad?? Is there any changes to the Competition that you want to see??

The next round will be the 1st April

Just an idea, but could we do a 2 vs. 2 round? two boards side by side, two 11 man teams per side, 1(or more) ball?
Or we could play on one board with two 5 man teams per side.

It would be a bit of cooperative carnage, and a good challenge. biggrin.gif

P.s. id also like to try dungeon bowl sometime rolleyes.gif
