"In the Summer of 2005, a group of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology students were inspired by an Investor's Business Daily article to form an investment club. Two months later and countless hours, the TJ Investment Club debuted at an an Eight Period B Block Activity sponsored by Mr. Zack, a government and economics teacher.

TJIC the provides an exciting atmosphere for young adults to discuss investment strategies and gain a financial education. The unique appeal of TJIC is the buying of investments with real money. This adds a realistic amount of risk to the investment decision process and as such, the experience the members gain is authentic.

Our investment methods are based on Investor's Business Daily's CAN SLIM system and its 20 Rules for Stockmarket Success. We also have guest speakers and presentations to enhance our knowledge of investing.

Every year we invest approximately $1000 according to investment decisions that are voted on as a group. At the end of the year, all proceeds are donated back to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology to support the our exceptional academic environment." -'06-'07 Officers
