First off I'm sorry for the silly title. But, I have been watching European Exorcist rip-offs lately like the L'ossessa and the delirious Un urlo nelle tenebre. So maybe my brain is not working like it should. Anyways, I'm also interested in films that borrow from the Rosemary's Baby, like the Giulio Petronis La profezia or from Omen like Alberto De Martinos Holocaust 2000. So I was thinking maybe the good folk at Cinehound can recomend me some more devilish fun.
![]() And what the hell, I'm also interested in any incarnations of the Devil in cinema, also non European. -------------------- |

Nude for Satan of course!
The most entertaining interpretations of the devil, as far as I'm concerned: Billy Crystal in Deconstructing Harry Ray Wise in Reaper -------------------- |

oh, and if it's not just exploitation movies, then The Devil's Eye one of Bergman's more light hearted efforts, is a lot of fun

I just watched Nude for Satan! And YES it's a very entertaining film. I'm not familiar with the Reaper. And I can't remember have I seen the Deconstructing Harry, even though I love Woody Allen.
I have to confess that Satanico Pandemonium has been on my "to buy" list for ages... The Devil's Eye on the other hand is one of my favorite Bergman films. I think I go and order the Satanico Pandemonium now. -------------------- |

Just watched Vengeance of the Zombies. There is a nice delirious nightmare scene in the film in which Paul Naschy plays the Devil:
![]() The scene is accompanied with wild free jazz sound track. Naschy also plays Indian guru named Krishna in the film! On top of that there's also knife murderes loose in Guy Fawkes mask, Voodoo, yoga, pentagrams, zombies, Thuggee stranglers, blood drinking and black masses. So all and all pretty wild mix of things and very entertaining. How about Jesus Franco and Satan? Any nice incarnations of the Devil in the films of Jesus Franco? -------------------- |

Oh and, how about the German film Magdalena, vom Teufel besessen. It's like a forerunner for the 1982 film the Entity. I have only seen this on Belgian VHS dubbed in French. Is there any good English language release of this wild film?

No. The only English dubbed versions are boots or PD (which to me is the same thing really). Btw, I bought an English dubbed boot from America. The dvdr was sourced from a VHS and when I compared it with my original German VHS the English dubbed print turned out to be cut! However, it should be noted that there's been several American and Canadian VHS releases and needless to say I don't know if they all carry the cut version. There's also a Japanse VHS. A couple of screen grabs from the boot DVD and the German VHS: DVD-R ![]() VHS -------------------- 2019 AD. The only blog that survived the nuclear holocaust: EN LEJEMORDER SER TILBAGE

Just watched Filippo Walter Rattis 1971 film La notte dei dannati on Belgian VHS-tape. It's on American video label with the sleeve title La nuit des damnés, but the title on the screen is Les nuits sexuelles.
Unfortunately there in no Devil in sight, nor is anyone possessed. Luckily there are a lot of erotic black masses and ritual murders in the film. All in all it's a great 70's modern gothic horror with atmospheric old castle, sex, candles, dry ice mist, black masses, pair of hairy armpits, Hieronymus Bosch painting, spider webs and some more esoteric ritual sex. Is there any English friendly VHS or DVD of the film? Also I remember hearing that there is even more erotically explicit version of the film. The Belgian tape only runs under 75 min. So all information on other verison is very welcome. -------------------- |
