Who doesnt know him ......... Klaus Kinski, one of the most important faces of the euro cinema (probably because he played in so many movies).

Kinski played in so many movies, that I got the feeling he was more interested in the money, than the role he was playing. he was also often accused of this n interviews, but as never replied in a direct way on this question....

kinski played in 23 spaghetti westerns, some of the best spaghetties westerns made (for a few dollars more, bullet for the general, great silence) and some of the biggest trash ever produced (A Barrel Full of Dollars, Fistfull of Death).
I can imagen kinski was casted most of the time for his "hideous""mental" look in his face ...... or even betterto say.... his face.
I never really understood why people find kinski such a great actor ...... i just find him a mental case. he more or less allways plays the same role ...... namely, a mental case..

I enjoy kinski most when he plays a side role ...... I find him absolutely great in "for a few dollars more" were he plays a hunchbacked bandit who is being dissed by lee van cleef, he lights a match on kinski's hunchback ........ the way kinski looks at van cleef, you can allmost imagen that kinski is really insulted (great scene!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kv0b9TxAtG4

their are some interviews with kinski (in german) were you can see what kind of impossible person he is. twisting every word the journalist is saying ..... accusing the journalist of saying things that were never said ...... talking about him self if he is gods gift to earth ....... you could allmost imagen the guy is under the influence of cocain!

I dont know how many movies kinski played in totall...... but these are the spaghetti westerns he was in:
1964 - Last of the Renegades - directed by Harald Reinl

1964 - The Last Ride to Santa Cruz - directed by Rolf Olsen

1965 - For a Few Dollars More - directed by Sergio Leone

Kinski could be totally different depending on the quality of his interlocutors. Many years ago, in Paris, my old friend Jean-Pierre Bouyxou asked for an interview. When he arrived to Kinski's apartment, it appeared that Kinski has totally forgot the rendez-vous, he was in pajamas (in full day). But he invited Jean-Pierre and for all the evening and the entire night, drinking and smoking (and probably not only tobacco) they talked without interruption. According to Jean-Pierre, not only was Kinsky friendly, but he was also interested in his guest's projects - he was not only talking about himself as so many stars do. When the morning finally came, Bouyxou was extatic until he realized that the planned interview has been totally forgotten, as both talked on myriads of different things practically without connection with Kinski's career.

Similarly, or almost, another friend of mine, Pierre Jouis, interviewed Christopher Lee, also in Paris, for the magazine "Vendredi 13". Initially, the length of the interview was 30 minutes. When Lee discovered that Pierre was not talking only of Dracula, but knew many of his other movies like "Corridors of Mirrors" or "The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes" or "Corridors of Blood", he was so pleased that the interview lasted almost two hours.
