I have hundreds of NTSC videotapes, both originals and copies.
I would like to transfer them to DVD-R, but my DVD records cant record NTSC.
I have a video that plays pure NTSC signal 3.58, but I need a DVD recorder that
can record that signal.
So does any of you guys know of any recorder that can record NTSC.
I would be very happy with any help.

Same problem here! sad.gif

Have thought about a solution but not yet tried it. Maybe when you connect the NTSC vcr to a PAL/ NTSC vcr and that one to a DVD recorder unsure.gif
But that can only be possible if a vcr converts the NTSC signal to PAL. If it just passes thru the signal to the TV set it won´t help ofcourse.

I use a Sony dvd-r recorder with a hard drive, can't complain. Pioneer dvd-recorders can also record ntsc.

I also use a Sony recorder with a hard-drive and have no problems in recording Pal or Ntsc - but even before that and since 2002 my first DVD recorder was a Philips and it was similarly able to copy Pal and Ntsc, even if it hadn't a hard-drive.

You must ask for confirmation in your own country, but theorically the following Sony recorders can record Pal and Ntsc:

RDR-HXD790 HDX890 HDX990 HDX1090
RDR-HDX795 HDX895 HDX995 HDX1095

These models are sold in Europe but you can perhaps find them in America as well?

Like Member-X said Pioneer can do the trick and actually I know from a friend that they're pretty good. I wish I'd thought of it when I bought my crappy Panasonic. sad.gif

Ever since I bought my crap Panasonic dvd recorder ("crap" cos it can't copy ntsc tapes) I've been gung-ho set on wanting a Pioneer recorder the next time I buy one. Unfortunately I've recently discovered the fuckers have stopped making them! angry.gif
Do any of you know which model was the last one they manufactured? The highest model number I've found online is 645H. unsure.gif

Ok, I´m using my old Panasonic DMR-ES 10 for almost 6 years now and it´s a hardcore DVD Record!.
It accepts both PAL and NTSC system color system entry.
My VCR only plays NTSC system (the brazillian color system) so I´m able to play all the NTSC VHS in this VCR and convert it to DVD-R´s.
I´m able to play both PAL and NTSC DVD´s in my DVD Player and convert it to DVD-R too.
The most problem is to try to copy a Microvisioned DVD to a DVD-R coz the Panasonic Recorder is not able to crack the piracy anti-system.
