Bite The Bullet - Really enjoyed it, hadn't seen it for years. Made all the difference watching it scope compared to a fullscreen presentation.

War Of The Arrows - Another winner from Korea set during the 17th century when attacked by Manchurians. I watched the director's cut, I don't know what the difference between them was but it recieved an 18 Korean certificate whereas the theatrical cut is a 15.

The Rite - Pretty good, I enjoyed it but I feel they could have cranked up the fear factor a bit. Some of the visuals were really good. Definitely worth a watch but nothing to get excited about.

Once Before I Die- Not bad, a group of people are on a journey to get to Manilla during WWII encountering dangers from the enemy on the way. Basically sunday afternoon fodder but Andress looks gorgeous, there's even an excuse for her to get her top wet.

The Toolbox Murders - Watched the Blue-Underground Blu Ray, the print looks really nice. I'd only ever seen the Hokushin pre-cert before and never seen it uncut.

Dragon Eyes - I thought to myself "why did I buy this" and thought it may have been a mistake but it turned out to be alright, a lot better than I was expecting.

The Flying Guillotine - Fancied revisiting this one but watched the English dub for the first time. Don't know where they got the idea for Chen-kuan Tai with unbraided long hair and a sword on the cover from though!

Flying Guillotine 2 - After revisiting the first one the other day it would have been rude not to follow it up with this.

The Split - Fantastic heist movie from '68. I was glued to the screen the whole time, highly recommended, it's got a fantastic cast too.

The Poseidon Adventure - Not seen it since I was a kid, still purely enjoyable and the Blu Ray looks nice and crisp.

Fingers On Trigger - Stanley Fung stars as an ex cop who's son needs a kidney transplant and does contract killings to pay for his operation but not all goes to plan. Pretty good Golden Harvest flick that doesn't seen like it's going to be all that for the first 15-20 minutes then it turned out to be pretty good.

Blackthorn - Sam Shepard plays the role of Butch Cassidy in his later years set in Bolivia. Slow moving but a really good film, some of the scenery looks fantastic.

Deliverance - Haven't seen it for many years, still just as powerful. The Blu Ray looks really nice and there is an interesting half hour extra on the disc with the four principle actors discussing the film 40 years on.

Double Indemnity - Wow, what a fantastic film, I was engrossed throughout. I don't really know much at all about films from this period, I used to think they were a little too early for my liking. After 15-20 minutes I realised that Body Heat was a remake of this (I thought it was a remake of a Hitchcock film for some reason, sure I read that somewhere)

Brute Corps - A bunch of mercenaries abuse a hitchiking couple and rape the girl only for them to get revenge with the aid of one of the mercs. Not bad and quite sleazy in parts, the first two thirds of the film were better than the last. Still worth a watch though.

Lovers Destiny - Tsung Hua has to go away to see his sick mother, upon his return he finds out that his fiancee Ching Li has been forced to become the evil general's mistress so he gets help from Chen Kuan-tai and Shih Szu to rescue her from his clutches ending in violence. Quite a good drama from Chu Yuan and not the romantic tosh it may appear to be.

Won Ton Ton The Dog Who Saved Hollywood - Ok for a watch, not a great film by any means but a lot more fun than it looks.

The Odessa File - Not seen it for years, enjoyed it a whole lot more this time around, the U.S. Image Blu Ray looks absolutely stunning.

user posted image

Assault On A Queen - Enjoyable enough heist movie from '66 with Sinatra, Franciosa and crew raising an old submarine off the seabed to help them aid robbing the Queen Mary's at sea.

Violent Rome - Not watched a Merli for a while so thought I'd chuck his first crimebusting outing on. Still delivers the goods.... and always will.

Night Hawks - The German Blu Ray looks really nice, one of my favourite Stallone films. My only disappointment is it's one of the version's with Rolling Stones Brown Sugar substituted for something else.

user posted image

The Blues Brothers - Went round my parents this afternoon as it was my Dad's birthday today and I got it for him, within 10 minutes of being there he decided to stick it on.

Stick - Classic 80's Burt. Good film but it looked more like a really good DVD than a Blu Ray.
