I was wondering if anyone else out there has an affinity for the genre. If so, what are some favorites, and what are some obscure flicks people have been looking for or wanting to see?

My hands-down favorite is Coffy, but I'm also partial to Black Gestapo, The Hitter, Gordon's War, Melinda, Darktown Strutters, Candy Tangerine Man and, well, I'll stop myself there... wink.gif

I'be honest, I have some blaxploitation tapes but I haven't seen them (...)
I like soul music and action films so I guess I'll like them. Pam Grier was a nice sexy chick!

Another fun-blaxploiter is "The Human Tornado" starring Rudy Ray Moore, definitely worth checking out!

I quite like the genre but there's many I haven't watched. FOXY BROWN, COFFY, SHAFT, and TRUCK TURNER are probably my favourites. And Fred Williamson is great!

You guys mentioned a lot of good ones. smile.gif

And great call Canisius on the nod to Human Tornado. Rudy Ray Moore (RIP) is close to a religious figure in my home. I was fortunate enough to see him perform live a couple years ago, and he was still a bad-ass shit-talkin' motherfucker. I whole-heartedly recommend his films (including Monkey Hu$tle) to everyone.

Also, not sure if it's widely known, but a comedian named 'Wildman' Steve starred in a vehicle called The Six-Thousand Dollar Nigger. It's pretty similar to RRM's movies, and definitely worth picking up if you have the chance.

I'm glad you mentioned that DVD release of Boss Nigger, mark. I had totally missed that. Seems like it would be a nice replacement for my crap PAL tape of Black Bounty Killer.

Anyone a fan of Blaxploitation horror - Abby, Sugar Hill, Dr. Black Mr Hyde, the Blacula films, etc?
