Bhoot is a Bollywood Horrorfilm released in 2003. "Bhoot" is the Nepali and Hindi word for "ghost" and the movie deals with the supernatural.
Story: Vishal (Ajay Devgan) and Swati (Urmila) rent a flat on the twelfth floor on an apartment. The flat on the twelfth floor has a dark past. The previous occupant of this flat died a mysterious death. Nevertheless this fact does not deter Vishal. Everything is fine until Swati starts visualizing the dead. Doctors claim it to be a psychological disorder. The housemaid (Seema Biswas) is the first one to be convinced that the ghost does exist. Slowly one by one everyone is convinced about the same. On one end we have Liyaqat Quereshi (Nana Patekar) trying to find out something, which is gone amiss. On the other end there is Dr. Rajan (Victor Banerjee), trying to save Swati. Vishal gets help from exorcist Rekha. When everyone is trying to figure out what went wrong, suddenly the story takes a weird twist. Cast: Ajay Devgan, Urmila Matondkar, Fardeen Khan, Rekha, Nana Patekar, Seema Biswas, Victor Banerjee. Director: Ram Gopal Varma. Available on DVD. DVD has option for English subtitles. |

NEWS???!! That's six years old!
Ramu has made about 100 films since this one. Well, OK, maybe twelve films. Bhoot was pretty dull. Slow and packed with filler scenes. Despite the bad reviews, I actually enjoyed his more recent horror offering Phoonk quite a lot and would recommend it to most readers of this board. The performance of the female "witch" alone makes it worth a look. Haven't seen Agyat yet but am looking forward to it. |

Hey! I almost believed it. I found Deyyam more enjoyable than Bhoot. I have the Phoonk DVD but not see it yet. I will see it right away. Thank you for recommendation, Pete! |

well, the last half is pretty good. But you have to watch the first half to get there!
But it's quite a short film by Indian standards, so not too much of a chore |
