Got the US VHS of this obscure Swedish/Irish Horror movie in the mail today and although I haven't seen it, it's worth a thread! smile.gif

The movie was directed by Calvin Floyd (never heard of him before) and among the cast is the one and only Curd Jürgens as "the evil count"...no further comments, need to watch this one asap!

I have this tape as well! The swedish title is "Ondskans värdshus" (The Evil Inn)..
Calvin Floyd was an Irishman living/working in Sweden in the 70s and responsible for the lionshare of the swedish horrorfilms made that decade (pretty sad, no?). Others by him are VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN, THE SEARCH FOR DRACULA (a documentary about dracula/vampires) and SAMS, which is sort of a proto-version of Moddysson´s TILLSAMMANS (Together).
They all are pretty good and worth watching.

By the way, Per Oscarsson is proably the best swedish actor ever, quite a guy!!

Cool...so this is not a bad pick starting off with Swedish horror flix, eh? I bet there are lots of beautiful Swedish ex-rental tapes of the Calvin Floyd movies...

nope, belive it or not but none of his flicks were released on video here before Klubb super 8 put a couple out in the late 90s... shows how swedish horror is regared over here. it´s not too much else to check out after these really, a handful more at best....

That's a damn shame...are there at least proper DVD releases of the Floyd flix?
