This film is also available on laserdisc from Hong Kong and on japanese VHS, I don't remember the label though but the last time I saw it on eBay it sold for over 100$.
Nice to see Arne Matsson get some international appriciation. smile.gif

Unfortunally, this is a pretty boring film. Arne Mattsson did some (actually many) great swedish films all the way back to the 40s, the ones from late 60s-mid 70s are my favorites.
speaking of international appreciation, his HON DANSADE EN SOMMAR (One summer of happiness) laid the ground for the swedish sin syndrome!

It's true. It was a sensation when released in France as "Elle n'a dansé qu'un seul été"... I was a teenager then, but remember very well the movie.
Incidentally, did you see Matsson's remake of "Körkarlen" (The Phantom Chariot) ? I only saw the silent original, and the French remake by Julien Duvivier, with Pierre Fresnay and Louis Jouvet.

there was also a Brasilian release of this film under the title Máscara do Crime, can't remember the label but it is a rare release ...

strange is that Mattsson's movie was released worldwide uncut ... except in UK and in Germany. Both releases were mutilated by the cencors allthough this thriller doesn't offer gory scenes at all.

I have the Hong Kong (or is it from Taiwan?) Laserlink laserdisc of "Mask of Murder". I think they released some other Mattsson film also, maybe "the Girl"? Laserlink also released some Euro sleaze bore like Joy of Flying, Emmanuelle: Queen of Sados etc on laserdisc.

And RE. Mattsson, I also like some "Hillman"-films. And "the Girl" w/ Franco Nero and Christopher Lee smile.gif Someone please recommend more 60's and 70's Mattsson films for me!
