Title: INTERESTING EBAY AUCTIONS !
Description: Browsing ebay for rare items
cinehound - October 29, 2007 09:13 PM (GMT)
Hey folks,
I had the idea to create a thread where I (and you, if you like!) will inform you about some interesting & rare -film related- auctions I find browsing ebay B)
I suppose it's at least interesting, don't you think? I'm not talking about new DVDs -you can find them everywhere- but for some rare items. You may find something to buy here! Of course I'll provide the auction links...
This doesn't mean I'm involved in these auctions, OK? I'm not responsible for the seller's service, and I don't recommend any sellers here. I just mention some nice items I find.
And -to be honest- if I find something nice for myself I will not mention it here... But you know how it is, sometimes you find something cool but you simply haven't the money to buy everything! In that case I'll inform the forum about it.
I hope you'll find this thread cool :)

Fans of Indo flicks look no further: the Pakistani poster for THE DEVIL'S SWORD!!!
http://cgi.ebay.com/THE-DEVIL-S-SWORD-Org-...ksid=p1638.m118I'm not gonna make a bid for it as I already have a similar Danish poster from Video International.
Btw; if anybody wants this or any other poster from this seller they really ought to make an offer for it. I often do that and the seller is not prone to reject offers way under his starting price!

Those of you into Indo flicks (and cash to burn) may be interested in this: A seller in the UK is selling off his huge collection of pre-bbfc tapes, and right now he is selling the UK release of RAMBU!!!
I'm not familiar with this release (maybe Wayne knows about this) so I have no idea if it's uncut or lbx/fullscreen
(I'm the lucky guy who owns the lbx Greek tape which I won at an auction that som deathland guy put up  ). Anyway, check it out:
http://cgi.ebay.com/RAMBU-THE-INTRUDER-RAR...8QQcmdZViewItemBy the way; it's not an auction but up for sale. It sells for a mere £30!!

this one might not be a pre-cert because there is that little red 18 on the cover and it is not stated explicitly in the description that this tape is pre-cert... and when it's not, I think you can always expect some cuts on UK tapes...
WANYON - January 12, 2008 10:54 AM (GMT)
The UK version of RAMBU is cut by 5 minutes and 26 seconds! The tape was released in 1986, which was kind of the tail-end of the pre-certification era in some respects. I have no other info on it i'm afraid, but the BBFC website has no classification decision listed for it either for cinema or for video classification. The video company may have simply bypassed the BBFC and released it with their own cuts made and an unofficial certificate on the tape and sleeve possibly. That was an occasional practice by some smaller companies whose releases were very low-key or cheap at times...
Jack J - January 12, 2008 03:19 PM (GMT)
Oops, please forget I made that link!
A cut version :o of RAMBU is something nobody needs... or wants!
I see he is also selling THE DEVIL'S SWORD, is that one cut as well? I know JAKA SEMBUNG aka 'The Warrior' was cut.

And as you said, Jack, he seems willing to accept offers that are far from his "buy it now"-price.

I communicated with the seller and he said "this is the UK version , it is 77 minutes long"...So it seems cut, right?
Jack J - January 14, 2008 03:41 AM (GMT)
I'm really happy you put up that link, Lova, thanks! I have this on old Danish ex-rental and I simply had to have the poster! And I got him to lower the price from $39 to $25! (now my bank account is not just in the red; it's
beyond being in the red... but... arr-well... had to have it  )
And I also got these:
MIGHTY PEKING MAN (which in India was released as Mighty Himalayan Man - which is funny as it is but they even misspelt it! 'Himaliayan' ). It was $43 and I got it down to $22:
http://cgi.ebay.com/THE-MIGHTY-PEKING-MAN-...2QQcmdZViewItem- and TARZAN GIRL (Godfrey Ho)
which was $25 and which I got for 12 bucks!

That one had really nice artwork! :) Congrats!
I bought the Strike Commando poster as well, so my wallet isn't exactly screaming of joy now either(if you imagine that wallets could scream).. But all dollar bills look the same, Pakistani posters don't!
