Bakemon - July 2, 2007 07:44 PM (GMT)
IT EXISTS!!!! THE END OF A SEARCH... The most offensive Brucesploitation movie ever made was broadcasted at the brazilian TV!!!! "KUNG FU CONTRA AS BONECAS" is the original title. A gay Bruce Lee (half-Bruce Lee himself, half David Carradine series caracter) faces a bunch of gays shaolins lead by a Afro Pai Mei. A lot of naked chicks too!!!! Totally unbelievable!! So gay... But so funny...

WOW !! This is a Brazilian film, right? I've got the IMDb info:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0241645/Did you manage to record it on VHS or DVD? If yes, I would like a trade :)

Wild! Then how about that 'Bruce Lee vs. Ilsa in the Bermuda Triangle' or whatever it was called. I heard it never got made but then I also heard it got made as a hc porn flick. Any truth to these rumours??

I have an old Finnish fanzine from the early 90's and it had reviews of the (real) ILSA films and there was a scan of the Ilsa vs Bruce Lee film! I'll try and see if I can dig out the mag from where ever it's hidden and post a scan.

This is one of my big searches...I've read in many forums chats about it but somehow all collectors come to the conclusion this film was never made. There are a couple of similar posters around but nothing more. I don't really remember in whitch forum was but somebody had mentioned that they may had shot some footage for this film...and he had a link for a shop that has a DVD-R of it!
Damned, I didn't write it down and now I search on google and I cannot find nothing :(
But I should add that another collector had posted a reply saying that this footage was somehow fake or something...I wish I find the link to that chat again!
A ghost movie !!
Jack J - July 4, 2007 01:53 PM (GMT)
Yep, that's the same ad as the one in my old zine!

Oh my God!! Luigi Cozzi stuff???
"A total of 3 million dollars was plunked down on elaborate sets, aborted cameos from Lee Van Cleef and George Kennedy..." in 1976?
This sound a joke for me...

I am dying to see this! Any chance I could get a copy?
SupaArgo - November 12, 2007 02:45 PM (GMT)
I read a story a few years ago explaining that the Ilsa Vs. Bruce Lee movie is totally fake. Like someone made up that poster as a joke. There was some info backing all this stuff up so I believe it to be true. Sorry I can't be more specific, but that's what I remember about it.
tubgirl - August 18, 2009 06:02 AM (GMT)
I had to poke around a bit myself after that review resurrected the vague possibility it might exist. And I found this
http://avmaniacs.com/forums/showthread.php...meets+Bruce+Lee where the reviewer recounts it as a lame hoax :P
tubgirl - August 18, 2009 06:09 AM (GMT)
Whoa how majorly small the internet is- Jack it also turns out you have a reply bottoming that post from 2007!
BTW Look for author Mike Sullivan regarding The Unknown Movie review/ you must have missed it the first time around

Indeed it is! (and those of us who chose to use the same profile name on the various boards are obviously easier to find  ).

Doing some research in a lab list, I found elements for a film called Bruce Lee vs Ilsa in the Golden Triangle. It appeared to be a retitling (maybe a re-edit) of the film Golden Triangle. So it looks as though the rip off got ripped off...!
Jack J - August 19, 2009 01:53 PM (GMT)
Wauw. So it was actually on its way but never got fininshed (or re-edited if you will).
Jack J - August 19, 2009 01:57 PM (GMT)
In the thread about the film over on Dvdmaniacs a poster, Brian Linn, wrote this yesterday:
| QUOTE |
I found this faily informative article via Google News Archive while doing some snooping around. According to Kenneth Turan of the Washington Post (written in July of 1976), "Ilsa Meets Bruce Lee In the Devil's Triangle" was advertised at the Cannes Film Festival in 1976 and that Montreal based distributor John Dunning of Cinepix claimed that "Ilsa Meets Bruce" would come out around Christmas of 1976.

So what are people's opinions on Bruce Lee vs Gay Power? I know of a gray market site that has a bootleg of this in Portugese only with no English subs. For $7.99 I think I will take the risk.
Jack J - October 25, 2011 08:11 PM (GMT)
I never got around to actually getting it.
Do let us know what you think if you buy it.
Jon Houghton - October 25, 2011 08:45 PM (GMT)
I most certainly will. The site that I would order it from always has a sale where you buy 4 get 2 free, buy 6 get 3 free etc., so I will probably make it one of my free titles. I plan on ordering from them soon.

I got that from a friend in Brazil. The quality is really good surpringly for a tv cap.
The movie is more humor oriented than martial arts, but you get to see a few boobs here and there as a bonus

I have a digital copy of a tv broadcast, very good quality. The first time I've learned about this movie is on the wonderful Pete Tomb's "Mondo Macabro" t'was like a legend.
The movie is damn stupid and boring, it's called "Bruce Lee" but looks like David Carradine' s Kung Fu, even the lead actor wear a pink tank with "Kung fu and David Carradine".
Browsing the internet you' can find stills and even video about this movie B)

There are actually two different HK-movies called "Golden Triangle" released in 1975 !
One is " Jin san jiao "
http://www.ofdb.de/film/157278,Vorgarten-zur-H%C3%B6lle... the other one "Gam Saam Gok Lung Fu Mun" :
http://www.ofdb.de/film/20057,Die-Falle-des-gelben-DrachenI read in "Die Falle des Gelben Drachen" there are some guys playing soccer in Bruce-Lee styled yellow suits with black stripes !
Mondo Pete - May 7, 2012 01:42 PM (GMT)
It's the second one - Die Falle des Gelben Drachens
I've got a couple of slightly different versions of this
neither of them partcularly good!!

Ilsa vs Bruce Lee in the Bermuda Triangle directed by Luigi Cozzi with cameos of Lee Van Cleef and George Kennedy?
Come on....how can you believe that?
It seems a sum of the silliest desires a b-mobies cinephile can ever dream
1) one of the (supposed, while he's not) worst directors ever
2) one of the cultest villains ever
3) one of the cultest actors ever
in a movie that gathers two of the cultest carachters ever (Ilsa and Bruce Lee) and the Bermuda Triangle...
come on...if Cozzi heards this, he will laugh on those who spread and believe such fairytales...why don't you call him at his shop in Rome?
I wonder how can people still believe in this fake crappy rumors...
jnfernal - November 22, 2012 05:10 PM (GMT)
The two Golden triangle movies above mentioned are serious actions...and they are the same movie with some differences in editing, scores and credits between the chinese an the thai version.
It's quite a famous movie and it was printed on VHS by Cinehollywood in 1982, quite easy to find in Italy until a few years ago and - if I remind correctly - available on DVD in Thailand
Nothing to do with fairytales for fools including Ilsa and Bruce Lee....unless some teenager made new electronic credits in the last few years, in his own room....
jnfernal - November 22, 2012 05:13 PM (GMT)
The "Bruce Lee contra as bonecas" is not so rare.....my friend Glesio from Manaus told me that it was widely broadcasted on local tv during the 80-s and 90-s
Probably it became rare when some nerd spreaded the absurd english title...as it has never been dubbed in english, by the way....
But

its allways a bit dubious when such a review doesnt contain a single-screenshot except the well known "advertisement"
funny review though "Ilsa always seemed to appeal to the same drooling creeps that count the Guinea Pig series and Last House On Dead End Street as personal favorites. " well i kinda like the guinea pig series while my opinion of Last house on dead end street is kinda mixed.. :D
i still dont know if "ilsa meets bruce lee "was ever seriously considered or was a joke right from the start..bruce lee died 1973 while the first ilsa came 1975...a weird timing even considering the "fake" bruce li, if the production year is 1976 then this would be actually the "third" ilsa movie :D
jnfernal - November 30, 2012 07:38 PM (GMT)
never believe to advertisement
here's another example:

To be fair, no-one (or not me anyway) is saying that the Bruce Lee-Ilsa film actually exists. And that trade paper report is not exactly an "advertisement". I believe it was quite common practice back in the day for producers to create advance posters and give out news stories for films they planned to make, if the interest was high enough and if the cash could be raised from pre-sales. I think this is just another one of those projects.
I'm not sure I would agree that the Golden Triangle films (either of them) are exactly a "famous movie". But I'm interested to hear they are both the same film, They have entirely different casts. I'd always assumed that one was a Hong Kong/Philippines production and the other was a Thai/HK production. The German release of the one I am referring to does have a slightly different edit from the English version I've seen, but they are essentially the same. I always believed the Lo Lieh film was a different production with a similar name. Good to have that finally corrected.
