It had a Greek VHS release in the 80s but I haven't watch it yet!

I thought Grindhouse were releasing this, then again its been years since they first announced this.

Pre-ordered it anyway lol....great movie.

From beginning to end this movie is top-notch schlock; very violent, and also endearing with some melodramatic, scene-chewing monologues. It'll be nice to upgrade from the Video Gems version.

Btw, it's cool to see that Greek cover, Miltos. Isn't that the artwork from Master Blaster?

ive seen a trailer for GONE WITH THE POPE that shows most of the movie! its definately been completed and i seem to remember some years ago a dvd company like subversive talking about releasing it?? :(

Yeh its Grindhouse that is releasing this, from what I have read the shooting of the movie was completed just before Duke Mitchell died, so Grindhouse have literally put it together with all the parts they could find.

Is that R1 dvd uncut? If yes, what's it's running time?

Got both Dutch and Danish releases. The Dutch says 84 minutes and the Danish 94 minutes . I know that these don't have to be the exact running times but it won't differ 10 minutes I assume :unsure: As Jack says the Danish one is heavily cut with it's 94 minutes then the Dutch one for sure is HEAVILY cut :( .

I watched it last night and was blown away. Wauw! What a great old style gangster flick!

I'll time it later but from memory the running time is just under 80 minutes and yes as far as I know the dvd is uncut.

Yup, a great flick for sure...I've got the German tape which has all the violence and remember the running time being equally short (about 78 or 79 minutes me thinks) as well!

:o :o on the site as a holiday special deal they are offering a third disc with 30 mins of bonus material! :angry: bollocks,so much for trying to get in before the limited 500 run ran out!!

There's a long thread about the release on Dvdmaniacs and the guy behind the DVD has defended the less good quality of the disk but now, after one of the members discovered this new 3rd disk, he's suddenly become very, very quiet. This is like throwing shit at people and then laughing into their faces. $37 for a ltd edition and then when he can't sell them all he adds another bonus disk! :angry:

That sucks ! I ordered the day it came out. the good thing is to send all of us that disc. I'm happy with a dvd-r but the real thing is nice. GREAT MOVIE !

i see grindhouse releasing are finaly getting there arses into gear and releasing gone with the pope at some theatre in hollywood!! fingers crossed the dvd gets here quicker than massacre did!
