I wonder how long it takes for a big Hollywood producer to pick up his life story and make it a real blockbuster.

So finally , the "High-School Musical " generation will have their lesson in Black Metal ... unfortunately , this is NO joke :ph43r:

I hope there will be not too much singing + dancing during the church burning / stabbing scenes

kingofB - September 22, 2009 03:14 PM (GMT)
Unfuckabelievable :o

Did this flowercrushing bum agree with this???
Like those blingblingflashing, limodriving ghetto-rappers yelling "keep it real", this would be very "true" and very "underground" ofcourse :P

...at least Ricky Kasso never sold out!

magnus - September 22, 2009 03:32 PM (GMT)
Haha, now this is a film i look forward to!
What is the old Count up to nowadays being a a free man, other than stamping down flowers and looking merry?

(anyone wants a Hildjarskalf re-issue Lp by the way, i think it is pretty terrible...)

Harm - September 22, 2009 04:31 PM (GMT)
Haha, the guy's a joke anyway. I hope they'll turn it into a comedy.

Operazione Bianchi - September 24, 2009 12:49 AM (GMT)
To sum ist up , Mayhem , Burzum , Fester ,Mysticum , Darkthrone, Malfeitor/ Strid , Manes , Emperor ,Incarnator ,Gorgoroth, Helheim , Forgotten Woods + Troll ( NOT the "drep de kristne" Troll) have been the best norwegian BM bands that ever existed ! Correct me if I left out something !

But all this happened 15 years ago , and I really ask myself : Should this attract new generations ? I don`t want it to - or will there be "Hvis lyset tar oss" ring tones ? ... Oh , I hear this already exists ... what a piss-poor time we live in

Just take a look at the Count`s views to know he`s a hypocrite ...he stated several times being a Nazi , sometimes being not ... he also stated human flesh tastes like chicken ... he must be the most mis-understood person in the world while changing his opinion by the seasons !!! Nowadays no-one should care about his existence ... he is an ex-con and not reliable owards all the statements he did before ... may he live in peace , but please , never again release an album !

And about the whole BM crap folded up in the "Lords of chaos" book (which brought nothing new when you`ve been reading fanzines through the early/mid 90ties )there NEVER was such a thing as a "svart sirkle" besides bands having the same style ... I don`t have a clue what that movie should be about (wondering whom it should attract ???) , I read that this one will have a social intention , a criticisism of youth culture ... but hasn`t it changed yet ? From sociopathic , tape trading bm-lunatics who outlived ideals from books to nowadays youths grew up with internet- music-porn-politics--shit-whatever, piss-poor existences that urge for idealism ... I hear those kids are shooting and killing classmates at school these days .., what a fucking poor and miserable life is that?

Still it`s in my book : Mysticum members were serious with their "never stop the madness" campaign ( hailing hard drugs ), and Strid were unable to make an album because of death + suicide ...And this is nothing suitable for the masses !

So , I am sure that movie will be an ultimate attempt to rip off a sub-culture that , by it`s best definition , tried to oblitarate the masses .. Will this one be suitable for the masses ???

Amen, OB! early Ancient and Satyricon not be forgotten ofcourse.

I love the fact we can communicate through internet and all that stuff but still have good memories to the good old days when tapetrading, ordering 7' and demo's from obscure labels, visiting concerts throughout the whole country were my thing. And that all without the internet!
Reading magazines, flyers and writing letters with bands were the way to keep up with new stuff and concerts.

It's a lot easier nowadays but the satisfaction is a lot lesser therefore!! :(

Lars Jacobsson - September 24, 2009 02:43 PM (GMT)
Well, at least the LORDS OF CHAOS have a good director... Shion Sono is the director of the surreal splatter/teen angst flick SUICIDE CLUB. Maybe it will turn out more interesting than it sounds on paper?

Still, they should have made IMMORTAL: THE MOVIE instead - it would have been the new SPINAL TAP/BAD NEWS ON TOUR!

...still it's another quick cash-in on the death of Hieronymous, like many other "band-wagon"-BM-bands that would never had made more than a lousy demo (if at all) if it hadn't been for the publicity for BM this whole event created...

Get a cheap guitar, lend an amp hit a powerchord, to be "true" the production's gotta sound like a vacuumcleaner, so why not get mom's vacuumcleaner instead of a guitar anyway and make a quick buck...

Say what thou wilt about Hieronymous, but he pushed this stuff way before the MTV/CNN promotion and DSP allways had the quality-bands that stood out!

kingofB - September 25, 2009 07:52 AM (GMT)
Used to play that shit long ago and got ridiculed by the US-Death Metal-hype crowd for my love of dusty old crap like old Venom, Celtic Frost, Hellhammer, Mayhem early Samael, 2nd Darkthrone and such...

"No production, no grunts etc", music to bad to even endure...

"Studs, patches, denim and leather are just so early eighties/Judas Priest faggy and such..."

Some of those folks made BM cd's later on and some are still active among the "True trueers", well...

My thoughts exactly too, never cared much of his albums. Hope he concentrates only writing some books and nothing else. And this movie is just a joke, hope they cancel it..

And you can add Ildjarn, Stigma Diabolicum/Thorns, Limbonic Art and of course early Ulver to the list of good norwegian bands.

horrorC.K. - September 25, 2009 09:03 PM (GMT)
Friend of mine is a fan of him and was glad that finally after all these years he could go and live with his little family in the woods.
As if he had done something that important that he deserves it.
The fucker blew up the whole scene. It was something underground for those who understood it and loved the music. His actions made it a fuckin' worldwide calamity. CoF and all those crappy shit bands did go well on all the excitement.
Let's start a BM band and worship Satan....

Must admit though that I really like his BM albums.. B)

Operazione Bianchi - September 26, 2009 02:26 AM (GMT)
Ildjarn and early Ulver are surely worth to mention , also Thorns were pretty average at their demo stage (Thule - rehearsal and such ...) !

I still got the Kerrang magazine that made the whole thing a hype in the UK (f**k CoF ), but what remains is a handful of great demos and albums , and these are here to stay ... as same as collecting movies ... never mind what happenened later on , these ones will never loose their charme ;)

Mmmhz..my mate told this to me last weekend and I told him that Burzum stopped but now I'm afraid there's no escape...
What can you say...probably it will be a nice album but he returns after all this time to join the scene he disgusts in the first place.
I mean; he KNOWS he is gonna have to rely on his 'cult- status' and will be judged by that and all BM fans will embrace him back into their arms like some kinda lost son.
Stating that all similarity ends at only on the music is bullshit. He probably has no money left and therefore picks up his instruments to do what most musicians do it for: earning money....and there's nothing wrong with that but don't say the opposite.

He hyped the scene back then and is gonna do it again! Can't wait for the first skater wearing a shirt of his newest album in 2010....

magnus - November 18, 2009 09:25 PM (GMT)
"The "black metallers" will probably continue to "get loaded", "get high", and in all other manners too behave like the stereotypical Negro; they will probably continue to get foreign tribal tattoos, dress, walk, talk, look and act like homosexuals, and so forth"
haha, this guy is just unbelievable. Must say that, apart from the "foreign tribal tattoos", the black metallers sound like fine lads!
By the way, i saw an interview with the Shining-guy, great fun, were he stated that he is against and hates everything that lives (ok?) and one example is flowers. He went on saying he couldnīt destroy all life but any small thing was good, i can just picture him going around in jogging-pants stamping down flowers á la the sober heterosexual-aryan count (clown).

I don't get why Mr. Vikernes really seems to believe to be someone special...he comes across like a (christian) preacher, telling people what to think, trying to school grown ups like dumb and uneducated children...yes, he's into norse mythology, I get it. Is this fact soo unique and extraordinary, NO IT ISN'T!! People are/were into that stuff for ages WAY before him, but he is the one to enlighten us about all things asatru? I'd like to know what people think of his writings who have been critically studying odinisim/paganism/norse mythology on an academic level, just to see if there's a solid background/research behind all his braggings, would be interesting!

His personal way of escapism is odinism, fine, mine is collecting vintage VHS but do I need to tell all other people (who don't give a shit anyway) about it, hell no... he seriously needs to stop preaching...it's extremely annoying!!

It's funny, don't you think? There was a time when Burzum flyers and stickers with swastikas on them were circulating in the underground...nowadays you can buy the latest record on Amazon while actually browsing for "Ice Age" Blu-rays (for the kid) or sth. similar...

Jack J - February 7, 2010 10:00 PM (GMT)
Mark my words my friend, soon evil will have taken over the world and fans will have to turn to the underground to find their Ice Age Blu-rays (complete with swastikas). :hi:

Canisius - February 7, 2010 10:31 PM (GMT)
Hahaha, maybe you're right Jack! I'd def. get me a limited "Ice Age" blu-ray tinbox with a nice swastika and iron cross design...

Yes same here. It's too long and boring album, the last track is just pointless filler. If this wasn't Burzum it would be forgotten very fast.
