So far I had the (mis-)fortune to:
BLOODY PIT OF HORROR fully uncut, slightly lbxed but terrible quality
THEATRE OF DEATH good quality, looks like a port of the Anchor Bay release
CAT O'NINE TAILS good quality, this one also looks like an AB port but
the menus are modified and the doc is removed
ALICE SWEET ALICE absolutely horrendous Ntsc to Pal transfer
3 DEV ADAM now I understand the effort that went into this but the quality is sub-vhs

The only Greek label so far with a site so you could see their releases is Onar Films:
http://www.onarfilms.com

There are hundreds of other releases here, most are taken straight from foreign ones, so just a few are really original and unique.

A rare one is the sleazy giallo PLAY MOTEL (but not a nice release...you could read my review). Also some Italian erotica with Karin Schubert, Laura Gemser, etc like LIGHT REFLEXES, DOUBLE DESIRE, LOLITA 2000...But in Italian without extras.

There's also a label with too many rare peplum / pirate adventure / sword epic films. Most are in Italian, Spanish or French and only a few in Italian.

I'm afraid Greek labels care mainly for local sales so they usually don't give a damned for unique titles or about quality.

Why did you even bother getting these? Just because they are cheaper than US or UK discs? Its hard for me to believe anybody from Europe or the US would be interested in these shitty Greek DVDs. They are all horrible quality bootlegs that should be avoided. This is the case with 90% of Greek DVDs. I was only happy with a few Greek MGM discs.

3 MIGHTY MEN is a different case of course. Onar did their best on that and its the best print they could get their hands on. Keep in mind negatives have been destroyed so we should all be more than happy with Onar's release. At the moment Onar is the one and only independent Greek label that deserves your support and respect.

I had a Greek contact You see...and both Alice Sweet Alice and Theatre of Death
was technically out of print at the time in the States. Bloody Pit on Something
Weird is the shortened version. So there You go.

Well I was just curious about the reason anybody would buy those as even yourself admitted it was a misfortune..

You never know what's out there. I was in Spain recently and picked up
WAX MASK on dvd and it had English subs which is great for me. I also
found Zulawski's POSSESSION there, maybe the only dvd in Europe?

Sure, you never know what is out there. However keep in mind that Spanish people are serious when it comes to producing DVDs and Greeks aren't. I mean if you buy Spanish discs you have more chances of being satisfied.

Yes, there is a Greek DVD of POSSESSION which is good-looking but has no English options. It is a bootleg like the rest of that company's releases. I am not complaining because I got my copy for 3 Euros.
