I just saw AUDIO VISUAL label released many SHAW BROS martial arts gems on DVD...Widescreen, with many extras.
In their original (a kind of Chinese) language and with Greek subtitles only (no English).

You could find them only for 10 EUR each in all big shops (including Metropolis) so...run for them :D

Beware some of the SHAW BROS. re-releases on DVD of their horror films or martial-arts/horror hybrid films, as they are sometimes incomplete, even though they are remastered from original vault elements! They seem to be a little ashamed of some of their more explicit productions from the 1970s and early-1980s and have been known to cut them a little. And in the case of T.F. Mous' LOST SOULS, it was released in a great quality VCD, remastered from original vault elements and then quickly pulled when they realised the content of the film. This no doubt means that any DVD release that would have materialised soon thereafter, will no longer be a possibility. I believe that the first of the BLACK MAGIC films released by them on DVD is also slightly cut...
A damn shame, as they have some classic stuff to release and some rough-edged gems, and yet it would appear that there will always be some in-house censoring of titles they feel a certain embarassment over (maybe due to Run Run Shaw being a 'Sir' these days, and feeling he doesn't wish to associate himself, and the Queen indirectly, with such 'unsavoury' material...lol)...

Strangely enough, the remastered Hong Kong DVD of Tsui Hark's WE ARE GOING TO EAT YOU! is slightly cut and the only way to obtain it in fully uncut form is via a French DVD release (although, i can't recall whether the French release offers up English subs)...
