Title: New Mondo Macabro original productions!
Jared - May 30, 2008 03:14 AM (GMT)
Long my fav retro DVD boutique, MM may be on their way to being the most interesting producers of contemporary world cinema. With HELL'S GROUND on it's way to R1 DVD this summer, two new projects have arisen.
FILTHY, a new and transgressive film by SUBCONSCIOUS CRUELTY director Karim Hussain.
The story from Twitch:

Haven't found any other info about the film but from the names and the ethnic look of the people involved I would guess it's a Filipino film. Looks cool and the girl is just incredibly sexxxy!
See the vid here:

Great to hear that they'll continue producing quality entertainment as well!
But the fact that Karim Hussain is to direct one of them makes me very sceptical, oh well, at least I've got Hell's Ground and Killdroid to look forward to.

KILLDROID is apparently a British production, according to IMDb, but directed by Rico Maria Ilarde whose previous movies were all produced in the Philippines. I have some of them and he is considered as one of the better Pinoy movie directors, an article about his career was published in the "Special Asian" issue of the French magazine MAD MOVIES some months ago.
Among other things, he directed the "Aquarium" segment in "Shake, Rattle and Roll 2k5" in 2005.

Well, it is produced by Mondo Macabro, which is a British production company. I believe the best description would be as a British/Filipino co-production.

That's right. Sometimes you read that MM is an American company but they're not. They just put out their dvd's in America these days instead of the uK which is clearly both due to financial reasons as well as avoiding the BBFC.
PS: how you doin', Jared? Haven't see you here much lately. :ph43r:

Well, I've only been "lurking" lately. I haven't been watching many films of late to be honest, with my spare time taken up with other interests, so I haven't had much to "say". Don't worry though, the 'Hound is never far from my thoughts!

That's good to know, buddy.
