the dvd was out in 2006 and movie is in Mandarin with English subs. 104 mins.

I have BOXER'S OMEN and it is indeed one of the most enjoyable dark HK flicks!!! I have the HK VCD which has the original Cantonese audio track. And since it's a Celestial VCD the picture quality is quite good (not quite DVD level but still).

Definitely gotta resurrect this thread, as BOXER'S OMEN (and its prequel, GU --AKA BEWITCHED --) are, in my opinion, the BEST examples of true HK horror (way better than new HK horror or other "J-horror" crap like THE RING). Outrageous, goopy, imaginative, no-holds-barred, technically superior, and well-researched (that is, the black magic element) to boot!

I agree with the late, great Linn Haynes that OMEN should be seen together with BEWITCHED. The two just serve each other beautifully.

You're absolutely right, Steve. BOXER'S OMEN is great! Unfortunately the reg.1 dvd doesn't carry the Cantonese audio track so I've just held onto my Celestial vcd. And I agree royally: those dark 'n' nasty HK horrors from the 1980s were heaps better than anything from the later years (having said that I do like Ringu and Ju-on!!).
