History: Klatu Berada was born on Courascant to moderately successful family. They seemed like your typical happy family: a mother, father, and several children who wanted to follow their parent's footsteps. However, his father had eventually developed a gambling habit that put their family in the poor house. Feeling that any chance of fortune was next to gone, his father felt that Tatooine would be the only place they could support a living. They all soon moved their to become moisture farmers.
After Klatu's family moved when he had just turned 5, they soon established their farm and seemingly found a way to regain their financial stability. Although nowhere near as successful as they once were, Klatu's family was confident that they would be just fine. However, the father always had his fears that he would recede back into his old gambling habits. However, for the sake of his family, he had kept himself from falling back into old habits. For a while, things seemed pleasant. However, that would change nearly a decade later.
At the age of 13, Klatu had done what he could to support his family, even running chores for them when need be. One day, he was asked to go to the market place to buy supplies for the harvest. With his 10 year old sister, Lana, he went to the market as he was asked. Several hours later, he returned to his home, only to find that it had been burned to the ground. In the distance, he could see an imperial troop leaving his home with a dark individual leaving the wreckage behind, his parents shot and his brother stabbed by a lightsaber. Evidently, the imperial troops had been searching for rebels in the area. Either through luck or fate, he and his sisters were the only survivors.
For the next several years, they had basically become street orphans, barely surviving off crumbs, stolen food, and hand-outs. Despite this, Klatu had remained strangely optimistic that things would turn out alright, although inside, he felt turmoil over the situation and anger towards the man who had killed his family. As the situation began to turn desperate, he felt that he could no longer stay on Tatooine. We he had turned 16, he attempted to stowaway on a shuttle with his sister. However, they were caught during a routine patrol. Although on the brink of trouble, he was spared at the request of a Jedi, who questioned his state. The Jedi, seeing the trouble that Klatu and Lana was in, took them in.
Klatu had shown an extreme interest in the Jedi though, intrigued by their beliefs and attitude. It took almost no time at all to want to join. Although older than most people who would be accepted, he was taken in. As for Lana, she had stayed with the order until she had turned 18. She had shared a different view and joined the republic, eventually becoming an ambassador. As for Klatu, he toiled day and night in his training. Eventually he had become a Knight in the order. He had felt that he had found his place in the world.
One day however, when he had visited Tatooine as a means of finding closure with his past, he had ran into someone he didn't expect to see: the man who killed his family. For the first time in his life, he had felt something he hadn't experience before... pure rage. The two man had found a long and arduous battle in which Klatu barely one. Despite conquering his enemy, it was a fairly hollow one. Klatu had nearly lost all control and barely stopped himself from killing the man in front of him. After this, he knew that he had problems. It was with this that he had left the order and isolated himself, becoming a hermit trying to master his emotions, trying to understand himself. Although he found a way to control his emotional troubles, it was at the expense of his abilities. Over time, he had forgotten what he had learned. After 3 years of isolation, he finally bordered a shuttle to head back to the Jedi order, hoping to regain his knowledge and attempt to find purpose in his life again.
