The Republic and the Sith ended the Jedi Civil War with a final and decisive battle over Telos IV. One of the Sith Triumvirate, known only as Darth Nihilus, defeated the Jedi Exile in combat and consumed his companions, as well as the Mandalorians aboard his ship. The Sith crushed the remaining Republic forces, and with the Jedi gone, the galaxy was completely theirs.

On Malachor V, Darth Sion had decieved Darth Traya by acting as if he was willing to be her student once again. Sion betrayed her for a second time and killed her during lightsaber combat. The Sith Triumvirate had fallen and an agreement between the former two apprentices as named them both Dark Lords of the Sith; Sion being the Lord of Pain, while Nihilus came to be known as the Lord of Hunger.

There were still live Jedi in the galaxy, two of them coming out from the shadows; a master and apprentice. Atris had fled and has apparently wiped herself away from the chaos. Darth Kanos, once friend of the now self-ploclaimed Grandmaster of the Jedi, is hunting him, wishing to see his blood on his hands, his death by his lightsaber.
