I am new here! The regular rpg rules apply, right? Original characters, no god-playing, be timely, etc etc. Is there anything I need to know that I don't know yet? I was thinking about creating a human character, possibly with a little bit of elemental magic (haven't decided which element yet), and a tame horse (I'll take a wolf dog in addition to that if you'd let me). If I can't do that, I'd do a wild horse of course. Haha! Hope to see more people hanging around here! Thanks for the invite, Arrow!

Yes, the regular rules apply, but we aren't too picky about the timeliness of posts, just so long as you actually remember that you are here and don't get horribly behind. (ha ha... I usually am).
Anything else you need to know... be mindful of the current era of the RPG, as it is different from most. We set it in Roman times, instead of the usual medieval style work for originality's sake, but as things progress, so will the time.

Human with elemental magic? Acceptable. Tame horse and wolf dog? I need to know if it's just tamed or if you're actually 'pairing' them, in which case it'll have to be one or the other. And the wild horse, you can also do. *laughs* If you want to, you could also probably get Larka or myself to play out the wild horse or dog and let you play out taming it.

Well thanks much for the kind welcome (and the timely answering of my questions). Very good.
Is there a place where I introduce characters? I would like to introduce that human character, possibly from the very stark beginning, so that I can play her whole life (including taming the horse and the dog). When you say pairing, you mean very 'two of a kind'ish magical 'meant-to-be-together' pairing, right? I could possibly do that with the dog, but the horse would simply be a steed. Maybe both just simple animals, and then later she'd come across something completely different.
I'm not positive on how to quote, but I guess I have to do my roman period research. My mind automatically flips to the medival time period, with swords, bows and arrows, horses, magic, villages, no running water, etc. Hm... Was roman times before or after medival. Oh yeah, before. I'm not that stupid.

Yes. Depending on how you want to start from the 'stark beginning', we can start you in the Halls of Creation, where you can actually have one of the divinities take your character under their wing as it goes from being a nameless, formless soul and becomes the character you desired. Or, you could go the other route and test your luck posting on one of the other boards.

Yes. That is exactly what I mean. Sort of like the maiden and the unicorn bonding. (See the definition I gave in the Rules section for exactly what I clarified it as)
You don't have to be 'paired', though... That's just an option I threw out there as a unique feature of this site. I wanted Saoirse Eas to be the most unique experience that role-players that visited here had ever had.

I'll help you with the Period Research..... Romans generally wore togas or stolas (If you've seen Gladiator, you have an accurate picture). Think about ancient Roman buildings in paintings, that'll be generally what the human areas look like, or you could approach from the wilderness perspective, which is still generically the wild setting most are used to.
Basically, we chose Roman times as this role-play's period to keep it from being cliche, and allow for more creativity, since the overused images in role-play would not yet apply.

*bounces* I'm new here!! I have a couple of character ideas, one of which was a dragon, and I know that a dragon character needs moderator approval...I don't know if you want me to post information on her or not. Let me know. If you'd rather me not play a dragon, that's fine, in that case, I'll probably play a wolf. One last question. Once I get all the details for a character hammered out, I should post it on the 'character profiles' thread, right?? ~Bryn

Hail Renea! Good to see you finally got the validation email working...I seem to recall having trouble with mine too. *chuckles* I seem to be the only one around here who doesn't know everyone else... Oh well, it's always fun to meet someone new... Go ahead and post your character in a new thread on the 'Begin Your Journey' board, then you can jump right into the RP. I hope to get a chance to RP with you sometime! ~Bryn

I can do that! Bryn, it's fantastic to meet you and I'm sure we'll get to play. Angie is going to be a bit overwhelmed. I believe that Dark posted a snippet of the original scene between himself, Kawmra, and I. I just have to figure out where to go from there. I know what I want to do with Angie, I just need to figure out placement of such. Any help you could offer would be MOST welcome. -Renea
