“Our destination is Touraine. The log states that it is a well known civilization that was built after the bomb eradicated the western cost of Europe. It is well known for its strange events, and rumors of monsters, ghost and all kinds of fantastical allegations. Hostility is to be expected, and if you see a ghost… well you won’t,” said Owen’s assistant Nora with a short laugh. “Our mission is to inspect the rumors about vampires suddenly appearing in the area. We believe them to be people whose DNA was altered by the radiation. It is expected that they’ll react with hostility. Our main objective is to establish communication or capture a live specimen. Hunters have been hired to aid the operation and should be waiting on site. Any questions?”

Owen felt embarrassed due to her overdone speech, but forced himself to stand and addressed the group. “Thank you Nora for that unique briefing. Many of you may be skeptical about this, but please refrain from acting independently. My wish is that we may communicate with the afflicted people without resorting to violence, however should they turn hostile; it would be wise to incapacitate them quickly. Altered humans show many unknown traits, some are beneficial to them while other can cause sickness. But let us not forget that they are still as human as you or me. As my assistant stated, we will gladly answer any questions you have,” he said.

The group was small, just over ten people including Nora, his bodyguards and himself. They included an assortment of people ranging from fanatics whom wanted the opportunity to study the specimen and those hired to help subdue anypossible hostility. He had a bad feeling about including so many people for this, he feared that they would disregard his advice and take matters into their own hands. Owen truly wished no harm towards the alleged vampires, he simply wanted to meet with them, study their affliction and see if there was anything he could do to help or cure them.
