Eva didn't take long to wake. She yawned instantly sensing that she was alone in the room. She brushed the now black hair from her face and walked into the bathroom. She quickly combed the knots out of her hair and checked again to make sure it was all one color. She'd not missed a single strand of silver.

Eva straitened her clothes out and did a few quick stretches that fallowed a habit she'd had since she was young. Her parents had ingrained a lot of habits in her before they passed. Stretching in the morning was one of them. She had to get the blood flowing and stay loose and retain her flexability.

After a short debate she grabbed her clock and pulled it onto her shoulders, it hid the bag she kept at her side and made her feel better. She headed down the stairs and into the kitchen where Gin and everyone else had gathered for breakfast.

She managed a weak smile and opted to sit next to the girl who seemed oddly pleased about something. The idea made the weak smile a little more genuine. At least one of the females in this group was happy. She looked at Gin for a moment but didn't speak. She hoped her hair color was acceptable now.

Gin found curious the drastic change in Eva....he liked the silver hair better. He was half done with break fast, the girl almost done since in the conversation he had done most of the talking. It didn't take but a few minutes for one of the waitresses to bring Eva the same plate they were having. It had just gotten out of the stove with and added melted cheeses as a side dish. It wasn't Gin's idea, but he wished it had been.

"Lucky! There wasn't any for us... So did you decided what to do? Today my uncle should arrive so we can discuss the deal with him later. Also we could meanwhile search for the impostors that gave us trouble not so long ago. It's all up to you, your the client after all. Then again things didn't go yesterday how I had planed... I mean honestly I didn't see it coming so I can't take credit for it. Well if you decide to go with us or not. You should be pretty safe from anything now. "

Gin played with his fork while he waited for her answer.

Eva looked directly at him and dropped her eyes to the plate. She picked up her fork and poked at the food with it. How long had it been since she’d last eaten from a plate instead of out of a can? How long had it been since she’d sat at a table? How long had she’d secluded herself, rejected by the rest of the world? Five long years ago she’d left the town she’d come to call home and returned to the wastelands, the underground fighting rings, the battles and bruises. A day-to-day existence for what? For vengeance? For herself? For those that didn’t give a damn whether she lived or died?

“I owe you.” She took a small bite of the food before she continued. “You could have just turned and looked the other way when those men confronted me. You could have let me fight them on my own or let them take me and do gods know what but you didn’t. For that and for everything else you’ve done for me I owe you. I can’t part ways with you until that dept is repaid.”

She took a few more bites of the food, quickly clearing away half of the meal without realizing it. She hadn’t even known she was so hungry until she’d started eating. It was something rare for her to eat good food that hadn’t been canned and stored for months on end before she even got to it. She’d not had a real meal for over five years. She’d not been in the favorable company of people either.

Gin didn't really believed she owed him anything. It was because she had helped him originally that she got into that mess in the first place. If anything they were even, or at least on equal ground. Regardless, the fact that she was grateful meant that she Gin could count on her. Gratefulness was a value that the Sanchez family treasured above everything else. With it loyalty, trust and respect were almost always assured.

" Ah your to make me blush!....but really your the client here so you get to decide what course of action to take. Oh and just for the flattery I'll do this job for free. But just cuz I'm starting to like ya. Don't worry you can pay be back in the future somehow....just don't go dieing before you do. "

He wasn't trying to be cheeky or anything, he was just happy that things were starting to look up. After being stranded in the dessert and almost killed by bandits, waking up in an inn was like a dream.

Eva stared at Gin, a slight blush coloring her buttermilk cheeks. She looked down at her plate quickly, hoping he hadn't noticed. She calmly went through everything he said in her mind and set down her fork on her empty plate.

"You shouldn't..." she said quietly cursing herself for how small her voice sounded. "You should be afraid of me. Everyone else seems to be. I attract trouble and the only way I know to deal with it is to fight," she clenched her hands in her lap. "I...I'll try to not get in the way and I can protect you in the wastelands. If there's one thing that I'm good at it's fighting and winning. Until my dept is repaid I have no choice but to aid you in any way that I can," she looked at Gin, her expression hopeful.

Eva felt she owed him a great deal as he'd aided her in their first encounter with trouble after they first met. She'd helped only by supplying the cloak. Gin could have easily turned a blind eye to the men who had confronted her in the street. He could have but he didn't. She was unsure if it was to help the girl or help them both but it was more than anyone had ever done for her in more than five years.

Well she was a welcomed asset and a fierce some fighter that's for sure. But she walked a path that would lead to great demise.....that was not the aim. However as long as she'd be willing to put up with him, Gin would not reject her.

Hope this doesn't get to complicated. She appears to be sensitive so I better watch it....I'm not exactly the delicate type. Then again it's never too late to learn I guess...

"Alright! It's settled then! I'll scratch your back and you scratch mine.....you can scratch Alala's back too if you want....Well that wasn't the best way to put it....Not good with women and stuff..."

Eva seemed like a whole different person when in an out of the battlefield. Outside timid and sincere, while outside almost feral. When he had met her rougher demeanor, Gin had an easier time...now that he saw her, well cuter side things became difficult again. Alala started to realize this issued so she decided proper to help Gin get back on track.

" Master, I find it imperative to discuss our next course of action as time will be a crucial factor in the future..."

Perhaps that was a little too outspoken...

"Forgive me I did not mean to rush but Master appeared to be in a troublesome situation as before....."

Gin felt awkward, the short silence not helping. He looked down on his plate, just a little left. He wolfed it down in a few moments as to escape the situation and drank the glass of water as well.

" Right....let's get going, we shouldn't give these guys to much of a head start..... I'll go fetch Pete."

He left in a hurry leaving the two in a similar awkwardness...Alala was starring at the back of his master wondering if she had said something wrong....It didn't feel like she did.

Eva looked at Alala and sighed. It felt odd not having her hood up. She felt out of place and unsure. No one had ever done anything other than reject her since her parent's died.

"I suppose we should get going as well. I'm glad you finally have a name now, Alala," she smiled at Alala and got up from the table. At least with this arrangement she could possibly teach the girl a thing or two about self defense and still protect Gin. She'd felt guilty dropping the whole business on Gin.

She waited for Alala to walk with her, fidgeting with the clasp of her cloak. The silver hair was gone, as long as no one looked her in the eyes they'd not see the silver of them. She was a bodyguard now. She'd protect Gin and Alala during the duration of her time with them. Her dept would be repaid and they could part ways afterwords.

Gin returned shortly with the captive who was still very much frightened by his position. He had joined the felony to be able to afford enough decent food for himself. And everyone often look to be a part of something. Even if sometimes you don't really know what your getting yourself into. As they joined the table he didn't have to much trouble recognizing Eva who not so long ago had knocked him senseless. Even if unintended, fear had been struck in his cowardly heart. Immediately he stepped back but Gin stopped him by grabbing his shoulder and ordering him to sit.

"I'm sorry i was just trying to make a living. I never thought he would go that far....they told us not to go there.....don't kill me!"

"Wow there! Settle down, if we wanted you dead we would have just handed you over. Loosen up....if your no longer taking there orders we don't have to kill you. Now if you really want to make a living. I can hook you up with a semi decent job that avoids having people beat the crud out of ya. That is if you can help us find these friends of yours."

Even though his life wasn't in any current danger, he understood the position he was in. Rat his old crew and get on their black list or be at the mercy of these kind individuals. Yet having experiencing first hand what fear was, he went for the kind individuals.

" It's just a small group of thugs that have been gathering. They figured they would pose more of a threat if they band together. They have a hang out no far from here....but they're armed... Please don't make me go there. If they find out aI squealed they'll kill me."

" Cool it. They have no way of knowing what happened so soon. And I'm sure the guards will do their part in keeping this embarrassing event to themselves or the people will loose faith in their uniform. So by the time the heat gets up we'll have you out of here. If your information helps us take them down."

But he is right...well be needing a little more muscle if we don't even know who were up against. Wonder if Eva's packing anything.....probably not.

"Oi Eva......got any weapons? We'll be needing a decent plan and firepower for this."

Eva shook her head at Gin's question. She hadn't thought that she'd be indirectly dealing with the men that had tried, and failed, to capture her. Normally the opponent didn't survive, but that was when she was allowed to kill or had no other choice.
She was an underground fighter, a martial artist, a young woman changed by radiation and rejected by the rest of the world.

"I do best with blade weapons. Firearms are too inefficient," she spoke in soft tones, a little dispassionately. She'd been fighting without weapons for a long time but she could use them. She'd been trained by her parents since she could walk and continued to master their art after they died.

The man was afraid of her. Even with the black hair, her eyes remained silver, her skin was still pale. But anyone that hadn't seen her with silver hair wouldn't know the difference if they looked at her now. That was a plus. If they went into battle, the cloak would have to be removed, it slowed her down in battle and she'd have to shed it if she wanted to avoid getting hit.
