The Sky mage professor stood tall just inside the door to the lecture hall. He gave each student a hand shake, a smile, and introduced himself as simply “Hector”. As the trail of students began to ebb, Hector made his way to the front of the class.
“Welcome all sky mages in training!” Hector flashed a large toothy grin to the class. “It’s is here that you will learn to become part of the sky, understand its inhabitants, and even learn more of other cultures. The world will truly be your playground!” Hector began pacing then, as his face grew dire. “Do not take this class too lightly however, there are plenty of dangers that lurk in the air, as well as other cultures.” Hector then unwound a white silk scarf that had been around his neck to reveal a large scar. “Apparently even Air Mages can be hung.”
Hector’s stern face changed quickly back to his usual calm and confidant grin. “Now that the more dire part of this lesson is done, and since you all know me, I’d appreciate it if you’d each let me know your names.”
