clendenin, set in the forested wilds of canada, is filled with people as pure as snow, a quiet little town where even the shit smells sweet. or that's what they would all like to think. but the simple truth is that everyone has secrets - and in this town there's nothing that can keep a secret hidden for long.

BROKEN
A LONG DAY ALONE EMPTINESS SO REAL
NEVER HAVING PEACE OF MIND RUNNING FROM WHAT WE CAN'T SEE
NO WHERE LEFT TO HIDE TURN AND FACE THESE EMPTY LIES
ALL ALONE HEART UNTURNED TRYING TO FIND

Oh how predictable. How cliché. How done. How over. High school role-playing.
Lots of tortured pasts. Lots of sex. Lots of drugs. Lots of beautiful people.
So what makes this role play different?

Well, honestly ... nothing. That's what makes it awesome.
We want you to make the most clichéd character possible.
We want the rich bitch, the naive beauty, the bisexual boy, the drug-dealing prep.
We want the most impossible, unrealistic, characters ever because, well hell,
let's admit it. All these assiholic bitchings about canons and rules and plots have
basically made role-playing unbelievably boring. So what's the point?

BREAK US DOWN
REPLACE THE FEAR INSIDE

The point is to take back role-playing. To make it fun again.
We want a site that doesn't die after five minutes.
We want a site that allows the most ridiculous plots ever,
deaths and pregnancies and murders and randomness.
Because really, role-playing is about controlled creativity,
about making yourself a better writer in an environment of honest fucking fun.

So, welcome to BROKEN. That's what we are. We are the cliché. And we love it.

REPLACE THE FEAR INSIDE
TAKE NOTHINGNESS FROM US

Now, on to the real plot ...

2oo8, GLEN FALLS, NEW YORK.
Welcome to a tiny little town, formerly postcard pretty,
now suffuse with its own snobbery. For those in charge of
the world have flooded this town, literally soaked it down
with their own brand of attention. And why, you may ask?
Well, it's simple, really. They needed a dumping ground
for their coughcough "unruly" children.

These are the children that have been kicked out of every
other private school in the country, in the world, the ones
that have become too drunk, too drug-addicted, or too
generally disorderly to manage. The ones whose true stories
aren't fit to tell while their parents are sipping dry cocktails
and laughing in an appropriately modulated tone.

And yet, one can't simply misplace or ignore their beautiful, perfect child.
Unthinkable! So what is one to do?

TAKE NOTHINGNESS FROM US
WE WANT TO FIGHT

Easy. Send them off to the Falls Academy,
a beautiful, well-managed school for the wealthy, if troubled,
youth of the world. There they will enjoy a top-notch education,
they're only required to attend two out of eight daily classes,
and all at a school where the diplomas are printed at the same
time their enrollments are processed. Falls Academy, where
graduation is assured and any sign of scandal quietly hushed.
Delightful place.

The teachers are Ivy-league graduates who have, for whatever reason
coughcough "lost" their former positions at prestigious academies.
For some, this means their own addictions -- sex, drugs, alcohol --
and for others, this means being wrongly accused;
but, honestly, there has to be a kernel of truth in every accusation, right?

WE WANT TO FIGHT
WE WANT TO SHINE

So, what's the problem? It all seems rather idyllic, doesn't it?
Beautiful, rich, blessed students wandering around the perfectly manicured
campus, strolling along the perfect sidewalks of main street, partying
hearty at the one and only nightclub in the tiny place. But there, in that
simple statement, is the problem. Small town. Small town rules. And every
single one of these Falls kids is breaking them. And the town is sick to
hell and back of every last one of the drug-addicted, shine-dealing,
alcohol-swilling, sex-having, loud-mouth, pushy, bitchy bunch of them.

And they've decided it's time to fight back. But how do you fight against
subtle oppression, purposeful denial, and buckets of money? Ah, now, that,
my friends, is the problem.

WE WANT TO SHINE
WE WANT TO RISE

In other words, you don't, because you can't. All you can do is
gnash your teeth and hope, eventually, they get their just desserts.
Unless, of course, you're a child yourself. In that case, well ... the
law doesn't exactly apply to you in the same way it does to an adult.
Enter, the Township High students and staff, all with one goal in mind:
put an end to the blatant disregard for their school, their town, and
their own mental well-being. Put the stuck-up bitches and badass boys
roaming the Falls halls in their places. And do it so hard, so fast, so
permanently that no one can dare complain.

But, again, there's a few small snafus. Like, they too enjoy a party or
seven at the local club. And uh, it's not like there isn't a THS student
or two taking a toke behind the dumpsters. Oh and yeah, um, what about
the intermingling going on in every way between the Falls Elites and
the Township Averages? So the question again changes, becoming a little
less easy to answer ... does anyone really want the Falls kids and their
Falls money out of the town? Or do they just want them to spread the
wealth with their noses a little less high in the air? You be the judge.

All I can tell you is that, wealthy, beautiful, rich, poor, or otherwise,
no one likes to feel forgotten, average, heartsick, lovelorn ... BROKEN.

WE WANT TO RISE
SO BREAK US DOWN

Join us, if you will, at this site for the newly liberated role-player,
where the plots are only as limited as your mind,
and the post count only as high as you are able.
We'd love to have you, but honestly, we're just in it for the fun.
If you don't join, it's not like we're going to be BROKEN up about it.

SO BREAK US DOWN

TAKE ONE MORE STEP AWAY FROM THE FACE WE USED TO RECOGNIZE
FAMILIAR SHADOWS CLOSING IN SUFFOCATING FEAR DESCENDS
