Character History: Telerev was born to High Mistress Salara, a highly ranked official in the Orion Syndicate—a currently illegal organization not formally recognized by the government of the Orion people. Salara became pregnant after seducing a member of the Orion government who wanted to arrest her for pirating. After successfully getting the official to drop the charges, Salara killed him, unaware of her pregnancy. When she found out, she immediately performed an abortion but it was unsuccessful as the Orion fetal defenses were already in place. (Orion biology keeps fetuses safe after three months of pregnancy by erecting an outer immune system that functions until birth.) Ten months after the seduction of the official, Salara gave birth to Telerev.
Salara had planned to kill Telerev as soon as he was born, but when it came time to do it, she was unable. As the years passed, Telerev grew and lived on different ships and stations with his mother. Salara, though unable to kill her son, made his life far more difficult than it needed to be. Without any real prejudice influencing her behavior, she took the unusual things about Telerev and made them seem atrocious, turning Telerev’s everyday life into one where he was constantly criticized, beaten, and mentally and physically abused over superfluous things such as his alternative sexuality, his heightened curiosity, and his desire to know more.
Afraid of Salara, wanting to free himself from that fear, Telerev snuck away at the age of 17 by stealing an Orion shuttlecraft. He plotted a course for Earth, and entered Starfleet Academy.

Starfleet Academy: In the year 2370, Telerev, at the age of 17, enrolled in Starfleet Academy with a letter of recommendation from Captain Montgomery Andrews, a man that Telerev once freed from his mother’s slave ship when the he was 14. Telerev majored in tactical as well as security and minored in medicine. Six years later, he graduated and was assigned to the USS Thames

Notes Regarding Resignation and Reinstatement: Lieutenant Telerev resigned his commission from Starfleet after returning from a mission in which he was held captive and tortured by High Mistress Salara. After his resignation, Starfleet Intelligence reported that Telerev vanished into the Orion Syndicate for approximately three months before being found by a Federation freighter. Telerev sustained multiple injuries, many were nearly fatal. After several weeks recovering in a Terran hospital, Telerev was visited by Admiral Medici who was inquiring Telerev’s absence. When he refused to answer any of the questions pertaining to his motives in the Orion Syndicate, Starfleet launched a full investigation. The results were inconclusive and Telerev was allowed to leave the hospital. Three weeks after his release, Telerev requested a reinstatement to Starfleet. The request was at first denied by Admiral Medici until the two spoke off the record. The next day, Telerev requested reinstatement again and was this time granted. Telerev was reassigned to Starbase Republic the next day.

Medical History:
Broken wrists, arms, ribs, legs, fractured spinal column, and other negligible injuries inflicted as a child


Punctured lung, broken fibula and tibia in his right leg, broken bones in his left foot, detached left eye socket, three stab wounds to the abdomen, two energy wounds on his back, three concussions, seven broken ribs, two broken fingers, fractured pelvis, dislocated hip, and other negligible injuries sustained when found by the Federation freighter Covenant.
Telerev has recovered from the majority of these injuries
