Hey guys, are there any good grass pokemon? I really don't think so.
Too many weaknesses. Thoughts?

Venasaur is great, but i agree there are a lot of weaknesses. ice, ground, fire, flying, but it is also super effective against a lot too. grass pokemon do have sleep attacks though

I think the weaknesses out weight the strengths overwhelmingly. Ah, but I heartily agree about the sleep attacks. Sleep powder is way better than sing or hypnosis. But you know what's better than all three? SPORE!! Put's 'em to sleep 100% of the time. Go Parasect go!

yea spore is a great attack. too bad Parasect is not good for anything else, so i never would use him. best type of pokemon? articuno. ice adn flying. a perfect combination. ice attacks are extremely good and hurt almost every type except water a lot. the flying is also good because it makes up for the weakness against water with it's strength.

a formidable lineup and i can't get them to 100 because yellow version got rid of the Missingno. glitch which is slightly disappointing, except that the game is actually a challenge and you have to actually raise your pokemon.

Articuno is great, no doubt. But I find the flying element just makes him a big fat, feathery target for electric attacks. My lineup for my Gold:

Lapras lv 100
Parasect lv 100
Gengar lv 100
Ampharos (weird kangaroo electric type) lv 100
Magcargo (melting rock/fire type) lv 100
Dugtrio lv 100

That rare candy multiplication is wack. I never used that junk. Just train 'em a lot, especially on long car trips and on lonely nights.

no flying pokemon? i always have a flying so i can fly around, but i have 2 legendary birds. my friend has gold and i watched him play with ampharos. he's like super good isnt he? cuz he killed like everyone with him. and who cares if articuno is vulnerable to electric? if there's a strong electric pokemon, i can just switch him out and put in Graveler and use earthquake or dig.

Anyway, yeah. I'm not a big fan of the flying. I think it's cause when me and my brother used to square off, the only rules were No Mystic Birds/No Mewtwo. It made the battle a lot more fun, mostly because we had to actually train guys, and be creative in battle.



p.s. Ampharos is good, but he isn't really anything incredible

dude flying pokemon are the way to go if yer talkin Pidgeot, a personal fave of mine and truly one of the best guys in the game, as far as i'm concerned. surely weak against elektrik pokemon, but there's always a weakness against each pokemon, so there isn't much of a way around it.
besides that, man, all i can say is Raticate. klearly a style i like to rock is catchin the easy pokemon in the beginning and trainin them thruout the game until they're beastly monsters.
i don't usually go fer the real fancy stuff (besides Vaporeon, another fave)

raticate stinks man! not bad offensively, but not good defense. normal type pokemon just dont cut it. are they super effective against anything? pidgeot is good though i ditch him after catching a legendary bird because he's just not good enough to fight the elite four. Vaporeon is also really good, and he has tons more HP than Jolteon or Flareon, but i don't know why

Actually, Raticate can be pretty vicious. Superfang automatically takes away half the opponents hit points. Strategical strummdiddliness! Then you just move in for the kill with hyper fang. End of story.

but after that super fang attack, what if the other pokemon is super strong and wipes him out in one hit?
