Some thoughts

I thought this was a good film, lots of different things going on, bit of history, social problems and taboos and some comedy thrown in. I have to say though, I much preferred the young "C" to the grown up version,I felt the older guy was a little awkward whereas the little one seemed much more comfortable infront of the cameras. Chazz Palminteri played a great gangster, he was charismatic and deep down , he had a heart and (some) morals. It was unusual to see De Niro playing a "good guy" for a change, of course he was busy directing so couldn't be in it too much, still his performance all through was powerful and realistic. I enjoyed all the wiseguys though I think he borrowed heavily from Scorsese's Goodfellas in the way they were introduced with nicknames. All in all it was a great directing debut but I can't help wonder why he's taking so long with his next project!

Yea agree, A Bronx Tale wasnt your standard run of the mill gangster film, it has a great story with depth to it.

It is one of De Niro's less known films and why i am not sure, it is one of my favourite de niro films.

De niro defintly has a talent for directoring, considering this was his directing debut! :)

Yeah I just watched this movie today, the kids name if funny, but the storyline is awesome. I didnt want sonny to die!

I loved this movie. DeNiro did an amazing job for his debut and i thought pretty much everything about it was spot on.

I adored the young 'C' as well. But i thought the teenage actor was good also. We have to remember, he had never acted before - he was cast after he was spotted doing DeNiro impersonations on the side of a road! So the fact that DeNiro was able to get a pretty great performance out of him, also reflects really well on DeNiro's ability as a director.

I liked that this wasnt a normal mob movie. I liked that it had more heart. I read that he said he felt he had to do it with 'real people' instead of actors, and i think the movie actually benefited as a result.

I loved this movie since i watched it tonightˇˇˇ De Niro is great as actorˇˇ This movie was awesomeˇˇ It reminds me "Goodfellas" although Bob put a special touch.There are many parts to analyze.Who wrote the script?? because i think de niro put many things of his personal life.For example,C has feelings for a black girl and he is afraid she is not well acceppted by his father or friends,anyway he doesn´t give a shit and he dates with her.I think De Niro also had problems in 70's when he dated with black women,at least that is what some people told to me.. <_< So,i supposse he showed in C's character something of his own..

The black girl,Jane,was quite pretty,she remind me the concession girl from Taxi Driver with that hair and that doll face,haha :P
I think de niro should have won some award or something,he was not recognized by this project ,what a shame:(
