Character Creating
Welcome to part two of our Rules and Guidelines. This is a very important section, for obvious reasons. So, like before, we expect you to read this all the way through.
Basic Character Info1. Follow the character Template, which can be found below.
2. Do not go over the number of characters you are allowed. There is a starting limit of 4 characters, after that new character slots are bought in the
Domhan Store.3. Please keep your character profiles updated regularly. If some special event happens to them, put it in their profile. This goes especially for aging your character. Be sure to age your character one year each new Domhanian year. Characters, as well as Beasts, do age here.
4. We do appreciate all characters to be well thought out and their profiles to be organized and well written. Characters such as Candidates or Riders are expected to have decent profiles with more than five sentences per eligible category in the profile.
5. You may not create Dragon Riders or Phoenix Riders. Certain other riders, for now, have a limit. So please follow what is stated in this list -->
What We Are Accepting.6. If you create any of the allowed Riders, you must make a profile for the Beast as well. This can be found below.
7. You may only create a City Sage or City Priest/Priestess character if there is an open slot somewhere, and if you get Administrator permission first.8. For now, there is no limit to ranking characters one person can have. However, we can deny you the privilege of another high ranking character if we feel you have too many or haven’t been active enough.
9. Certain pets, such as Wyvrns, Zarick, and Ikkimounno, cannot be created as a pet. They can only be obtained by purchasing one from the Domhan Store, or through events.
10. Large wild felines (such as lions, tigers, cheetahs, etc.), and wolves are extinct on Domhan. Meaning they cannot be created as pets.
11. We are ok with strange abnormalities. Such as albinism, mental disabilities, genetic deformities, etc. Just keep in mind things like this would be rare on Domhan and if we feel we have too many of these sorts of characters we will not allow you to create one. Also, please
please do proper research on whatever abnormality you are going to give your character, especially if you aren’t sure about everything.
12. Character profiles need to be linked to in your signature in some form or fashion. If you need help with this feel free to ask someone.
13. Do Not role-play your character before they are approved. We have a special button that tells you when they are approved. I know sometimes it can take a while, just please be patient with us in these cases.
Regarding High Ranking Characters1. Highest to lowest Rider Ranks are: City Sage - City Priest/Priestess - City Sage Apprentice - City Priest/Priestess Apprentice - Colonel - Commander - Rider Chief - Royal Guards - City Guards - Rider 3rd Class - Rider 2nd Class - Rider 1st Class - No Class - 2nd Year Student - 1st Year Student
2. Administrator permission is needed to create High Ranking characters (Rider Chief and up).
3. Royal Guards only need permission from the player of the character they are going to serve. Permission from Admin or Mods is unneeded.
4. By creating a High Ranking Character you agree to participate in any plots that might concern your character's Rank.
5. City Sages are in charge of their City and most often deal with military affairs. While as your character runs the City, if the admins come up with a plot concerning your City you are expected to participate as well. Even if it is a plot you don't agree with for your character's City, you are still expected to participate.
6. Sometimes the admins will ask your permission about a plot concerning the City your Sage runs. You are allowed to turn down the request. However, if we don't ask your permission it usually means the plot is huge and is meant to be a surprise for everyone.
Beast Candidate Information Bits1. For now, there is no limit on how many Candidates someone can have per Impression.
2. Certain Races have different age restrictions for becoming a Candidate, while other races can’t become a Candidate at all. See the
Candidate Information thread for more details.
3. Male Candidates are preferred over Females. Do not let this discourage you from making a female if you want though. We just have a lack of male characters a lot of the time.
4. A lot of thought and work put into your candidate is appreciated. This also might increase your chances of Impressing what your candidate wants, or Impressing something special.
5. You may make a candidate for a certain Beast only. If you want your candidate to be a candidate for a Dragon, Okami, Leviathan, etc. only then it needs to say so in the title (Example: “Marvealle | Gryphon Candidate | Female”) as well as the Rank section of the profile. Just be prepared to possibly wait a while for an Impression involving the desired Beast. Also, these candidates need to be well thought out and will have a minimum of two, five sentence paragraphs per section (appearance, personality and bio) in length.
6. You may also make a candidate for a certain Species of Beast. (Example: Shadow Dragon, Sun Leviathan, etc.) This also needs to say so in the title (Example: “Marvealle | Feline Gryphon Candidate | Female”) and rank section of the profile. However, these candidates need to be very well planned and written. It also helps if you have proved to us you are a very good role-player and plan to stay active. For these candidates, be prepared to revise the profile numerous times and be prepared to wait a long time for an Impression with that particular Species of Beast. Remember, we are looking for very well written profiles for these candidates.
7. Beast specific candidates may switch to normal candidacy at any time.
8. From now on candidates need to be role-played
before an Impression. There is a certain ‘post count’ for that character we look for when planning Impressions. We are no longer going to Impress to candidates who haven’t been played beforehand.
9. Keep in mind that if you make a candidate only a week or less before an Impression, your candidate has a lower chance of Impressing unless you have managed to play your character in other places quite a bit, and if you play your character well.
